The Salt Line, the popular DC homage to New England’s iconic fish and oyster houses, brings a second location to Arlington’s burgeoning Ballston neighborhood. Just one year in, The Salt Line has already established itself as one of the top dining spots in Northern Virginia. Executive Chef Matt Singer is leading the kitchen team in partnership with award winning Long Shot Hospitality Chef/Partner Kyle Bailey. The Salt Line is where "New England meets the Chesapeake" so guests can expect the same New England classics and renowned raw bar found at the original location, along with lots of new chef driven fish and seafood entrees, house-made pastas, exciting selections of crudos, and of course the best lobster rolls around.

In addition to dining, the welcoming year round outdoor bar (tented in the winter) has also become a favorite neighborhood gathering spot and is the perfect place to enjoy The Salt Line's signature beverage program and grab what many say is the best burger in town.

    Enjoyed the oysters and I love the clam chowder. It’s refreshingly light and features homemade mini crackers. Our waiter, Billy, was the best! Fun vibe and very positive.

    Waited for over 20 mins after our reservation time. Plates are skimpy and prices overrated. Staff tried to keep us happy by providing one starter plate (cod bites too salty) and 1/2 a prosecco glass (x2) after dessert. Overall not a good experience, although several attempts by staff to justify their bad programming.

    The Salt Line makes this New Englander's heart so very happy. Fantastic oysters, fried clams, chowder, and parker house rolls... And the house rosé (Arcade) is delicious. What more could you want?

    The crab roll was disappointing. Shrimp roll was delicious. Portion size on rolls was also disappointing. Server was outstanding. Wouldn’t order either roll again, would try another menu item.

    I brunched with family on the patio and it was absolutely delightful. The setting of course was beautiful, the food - especially the oysters! - was all delicious, the staff was friendly and professional. Just a top drawer experience. Thank you!

    Our server Billy was extremely personable and had great one liners every time he walked by our table, which kept us entertained the entire evening. The food was great but the service was even better. All good things to say about the Salt Line!

    Another night at Salt Line, another fantastic experience. This restaurant has become a true weekly staple for me and I’ve never once been disappointed. The oysters were FIRE and the cocktail sauce and mignonette is absolute certified GASOLINE, in the best way. The New England Smash doesn’t miss. Nothing else to say there. Our serve, John, was the MAN and even shot me a message via OpenTable after we ate that I had left my sunglasses. Talk about SERVICE.
