The Salt Line, the popular DC homage to New England’s iconic fish and oyster houses, brings a second location to Arlington’s burgeoning Ballston neighborhood. Just one year in, The Salt Line has already established itself as one of the top dining spots in Northern Virginia. Executive Chef Matt Singer is leading the kitchen team in partnership with award winning Long Shot Hospitality Chef/Partner Kyle Bailey. The Salt Line is where "New England meets the Chesapeake" so guests can expect the same New England classics and renowned raw bar found at the original location, along with lots of new chef driven fish and seafood entrees, house-made pastas, exciting selections of crudos, and of course the best lobster rolls around.

In addition to dining, the welcoming year round outdoor bar (tented in the winter) has also become a favorite neighborhood gathering spot and is the perfect place to enjoy The Salt Line's signature beverage program and grab what many say is the best burger in town.

Beautiful night to sit outside. Oysters were very fresh. Cocktails very good. Great chowder and Portuguese stew was awesome... Our server was the best --- always on top of things and very friendly. Only weak spot was the dessert --- mille feuille was very average...

Our server, Billy, was exceptional! His outstanding customer service and genuine hospitality truly set him apart. He is a true asset to the industry and made our dining experience top-notch.

Really delicious seafood but has limited menu. If you are looking for New England style seafood this is a fantastic place. Oysters are fresh and yummy! Management was fantastic!

Have been here 5-6 times and so far have not been disappointed. We tried the rockfish, snapper and brussels sprouts. All delicious. Like the wines by the glass options and lively atmosphere. Recommend!

Om a busy Saturday night, we had dinner with our son and family and had a very good time. We chose an indoor table, sans dog and fearful of the weather, but both would have been great with the excellent weather. Some of us had the $%%.00 Restaurant Week menu while others chose from the regular menu - everything was great; five os us had seafood while the 16-year old grandson had the steak the steak option on the RW menu. Oysters, fish stew, the cod, chop salad and the tomato salad, wonderful desserts - all were great and service was attentive even though the restaurant was quite busy.

I love this restaurant! The kitchen was a little off last week, but the manager made up for it. Our food came out cold. I still recommend this restaurant because every other time the food and service were great!
