Food and service were great. AnneMarie was great with suggestions, letting us try a bit of beer, etc. But I, as an Argentinian, was annoyed and desillusioned, to put it mildly, when we were served a supposed alfajor. It was not an alfajor, but two biscuits with fruit and cream. Not sure where yr pastry chef is from, but he should have done some research before calling that concoction an alfajor.

The Royal Green was great for a night out as a couple (would be great for a group too). The restaurant has been renovated to a very elegant standard and the dining chairs were super comfortable. Our waiter, Alain, was personable and knowledgeable and offered excellent service, would go back for his service alone. The food was great but fell a star short of excellent. The Tuna entree, while perfectly cooked, was under sauced and the pasta entree, again quite good, but was over salted, not by much but enough to deduct a star. We will definitely return to this gem of a restaurant.

Had a great experience at royal green! Food, ambience and service were great. The octopus appetizer is a must, comes out in a cast iron skillet with chorizo and crispy potatoes. We also had the fillet mignon and the bone in rib eye with mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and red wine sauce. Large portions and quality of the steaks with a nice sear on them. My only gripe is the creamed spinach could use some help, was very watery and bland.

All was excellent except the steak. The ambiance was very nice and it was a quiet environment. The waiter was extremely polite and informative. The staff was very friendly. The mandarin salad was delicious. The only negative was we ordered the porterhouse for 2 MEDIUM RARE. Because the porterhouse is pre-sliced, anyone could see the tenderloin side was medium-medium well. The meat was gray color. The strip side was perfect. I mentioned it to the waiter but he just nodded. My girlfriend got some bad news right before the food was delivered so I didn’t want to complain and extend the wait time. Since the strip side was cooked the way we liked we enjoyed that. I’m sure they would have made good had I complained but knowing I ordered medium-rare I was surprised they brought it to the table overdone.

Royal Green is a very, very good restaurant. It adds a sorely needed "fine dining" element to the Stamford area which does not have many places with this level of quality and service. Lovely furnishing, table clothes and low music/noise levels are features not experienced in many places in this town. The pastas are very good and the fish is wonderful. The calamari starter was fresh and not over cooked or poorly prepared (you can always tell how good the calamari is going to be by the color which indicated whether the kitchen re-used the oil). The wait-staff is friendly and efficient; the manager, Thalia, is gracious and works hard to make her customers happy. The cocktails are excellent. Sadly (so far) it is a hidden gem because people don't know it's here. Hopefully the word will get out and the business will get the recognition it deserves. Stamford needs this restaurant. It's easy to find, on the grounds of Sterling Farms Golf Course, being the front white farmhouse on the property. Parking is fine. Congratulations to one and all at Royal Green, you are doing a great job. I am glad I live close-by, I plan to be here often.

Golf and theatre and great food ?! Wow Royal Green we will come back in the dead of winter on a night that Curtain Call is “dark “. Creative DE-licious dishes, attentive staff and atmosphere. Very impressed !!

Our waitress, Anne-Marie, was wonderful! Attentive and so fun. Great character and personality! The food was good, drinks were great too, but I think over-priced for what it is. The inside is beautiful now, they did a great job with the re-model.
