                                                                                  Enjoyed leisurely lunch on outdoor covered patio Lovely view of lake Enticing menu Fab food Glass of pinot grigio better quality there than any other Muskoka venue we visited Can’t say enough good things Will stay at The Windermere next time am up north!!! Kudos to the pastry chef for a most inventive lemon dessert!!!

                                                                                  The view is amazing and the service very prompt! The sushi appetizers and duck confit are delicious! The pricing is high but worth it for the ambiance alone.

                                                                                  You can’t beat the view of the lake when dining outside, but the food was a huge disappointment. The $20 Heirloom Tomato Salad was a large slice of underripe tomato with some smaller tomatoes on top. It looked pretty, but was missing the olive oil, soused beet, balsamic, the goat cheese crema and the Fogo Island smoked sea salt, rendering it pretty tasteless. When we asked for balsamic, our waitress said they didn’t have any, so we asked that she speak to the chef; she returned with a tiny container for two salads. We gave up on asking for the remainder of the missing salad ingredients. The Potato Brandade that accompanied the halibut was excellent but the halibut was overcooked. The pork tenderloin was good, but the accompanying Fondant Potato had been precooked, warmed up and dry. The trout was overcooked. The view and the lovely breeze saved an otherwise very disappointing evening.

                                                                                  We ate outside in the bar area. Our server was honest and tried very hard. He forgot a couple of our orders. Didn’t blame anyone except himself. We survived. I didn’t catch our servers name but kudos to him. Bar food so our expectations were measured. Still had a fun night. We’ll be back.

                                                                                  We are coming here for years already to enjoy the scenery and the food. In particular the sushi. Regrettably they have removed the sashimi from the lunch menu. It was our favourite!

                                                                                  Having a table overlooking the lake was the highlight. Service was good but value for the meal was not. My wife had the halibut and I had the sablefish. Both were not flavourful but the presentation was nice. Definitely not worth the money but I guess you’re paying for the atmosphere and being right in the lake.

                                                                                  We have been coming to Windermere for over 50 Years and it’s always been great, it got better 2 years ago when new ownership took over…but there was this stupid rule you need to order off the location menu where you are, which I get. So we always do but for the last two years they let us also order a side of fries to the Verandah table, (from the pub) but this year it was not allowed. We even had it as a birthday request. I honestly thought about just getting up and leaving, mid meal, keep you food and keep your bill. Customer service is a 0/10 absolutely dead there. We Will not go back OR take summer guests. Go to Crossroads in Rosseau, 100% better they do everything to serve you. At Windermere apparently they have not seen the book Unreasonable Hospitality!
