Welcome to The Rose Inn
The Rose Inn is located in the beautiful rural area of North Warwickshire in the village of Baxterley with stunning views over Leicestershire, Birmingham and on
into the far distance.

The Rose sits opposite the site of the old Baddesley colliery, behind the village green and duck pond with an orchard and large relaxing area overlooking the pond.

Originally believed to be a 'Gentleman's residence', the building dates back to the 18th century and has served as a courthouse, jail, mortuary and for more than a hundred years as a public house.

The food was expensive vegetables were bought out after the meat . I had to ask for it. Advertised with crackling there was none. The service was poor. If i hadnt had to pay up front I would have requested a refund. Such a shame such a lovely place but I shant eat there ever again

Food was pleasant however could of done with more roast potatoes had to order extra the waitress was pleasant but needed to slow down as my husband didn’t finish off his sentence when she walked off did this twice

The Rose is a nice enough pub, most of our group had a roast dinner. The meat could have been warmer and the stack (roasts underneath meat etc.) made the portion look bigger than it was. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout the meal. I will happily eat there again but there was nothing to make it stand out from the crowd.

The pub has been recommended to us by several friends for Sunday lunch. It was easy to book a table for a date and time that suited us and even to amend the reservation time. We arrived at midday, was welcomed and shown our table. Everything was as you expect for an older pub in terms of character, layout etc. which is part of the appeal. The restaurant area was not overly busy. Drinks order was taken quickly as well as food order. Meals arrived reasonably quickly and were as delicious as we were expecting! Our only complaint is that there was a clear lack of plan between the two members of staff, for who was responsible for what areas and that resulted in miscommunication and double handling of work. One of those MOS, a lady with an Eastern European accent was sadly lacking in the customer service aspect of the role. She lacked any warmth and her approach was almost clinical and made me and my partner feel as though we were there to be seen, fed and out as quickly as possible. Unfortunately that took away from our experience of the meal as we nearly felt like an inconvenience. Sometimes her tone was sharp with how she spoke to us and other customers and there was no real need for it as the service had not really kicked off when we arrived therefore no undue stress or pressure. To note the other lady covering the area appeared to be the complete opposite. The food was very good, but my overall score reflects the service as well.

Was ok but used to be better choices on the menu but was a while back so it was ok chips were cool which didn’t help

The food was exceptional. Couldn't fault the quality or taste. What let the place down was that you didn't get a full meal. You pay £18-£20 for a meal and get meat, roasters and veg. If you want mash, cauliflower cheese or a Yorkshire pudding then you have to pay more, and quite a bit more. For this, I feel that unless they put more food on your plate free of charge, then we won't be visiting again. Our individual meals averaged £24! Such a shame as the quality is there.
