                                                Sunday lunch was somewhat disappointing. The vegetables were lukewarm and the beef, which my partner had, was very dry. Service and the ambience were both fine. On this showing, there are better alternatives in the area.

                                                Food was very disappointing this visit. Pork chop meal was bland and lukewarm, topping tasteless, accompanying veg was half a carrot. Fish batter was crispy on outside, very doughy and undercooked inside. Acoustics are poor as other diners' conversation easily audible. Waitress very loudly spoken.

                                                Fantastic experience in general. Food was excellent. I only booked on the day but if you go for an evening meal call ahead to see if you can be seated in #1 dining room. Unfortunately we were placed in the bar. Same food but totally different experience. The dining room looked fantastic. I wish they had said we were going to be placed in the bar. Paying at the bar at the end of the meal is also rather naff.

                                                Fantastic sunday lunch. OH had beef, which he said was one of the best beef sunday roasts he'd had. I have GF haddock & chips which had a lovely, crisp batter. Loads of food on the plate so no room for dessert. We'll be back soon.

                                                From the very warm welcome it was a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious,freshly cooked,vegetables were great,the beef, roasties and Yorkshire puddings were first class and the gravy was spot on. The sweets were very nice too. I could definitely recommend it as a place to come. We will be back

                                                Sunday lunch was very good quality and the place is lovely and quirky rooms. Very old thick stone walls and looked like a very inviting log fire for those winter nights. Staff very friendly. Price was a touch on the pricy side for Sunday lunch when you just got 2 pieces of beef but it was very tasty. Would go back though.
