Brought to you by Chris & Michele Redding, the owners of Cuckoo's Chicken House & Waterin' Hole and The Animas City Theatre, The Roost opened June 12, 2018, offering affordable, casual dining in a fun, downtown location. Our seasonal menu offers a wide variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and entrees, prepared by Chef Dave Cuntz, Colorado Restaurant Association's Chef of the Year 2021. Pair your meal with a glass of wine, craft beer or signature cocktail. Finish your meal with one of Nana Pat's Cookie Dough Brownies ala mode you'll be glad you saved room for dessert! Located in Downtown Durango, 1/2 a block for the historic Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge railroad. A great place to dine after your train ride.

We are planning to move to Durango in the next 12-18 months and have been checking out the several restaurants in the area. Like most others, the Roost did not disappoint. The service was super friendly, the drinks were fantastic (smoky burboun) and the food recommendations were awesome: loaded potato skins for appetizers, the wings (the biggest I've ever seen - yet tender and favorful), and the French dip with an incredible au jus. Just another great reason to move to DRO!

We had four entrees all had a unique ingredient for example the meat with mashed potatoes. The chef added homemade chips to the mashed potatoes. The added crunch takes away all the softness of the dish. The Prime rib and filet was prepared to perfection but the star of the evening was the chicken fried tomahawk pork chop. We had several cocktails but our favorites were the smoked old fashioned and peach old fashioned. The staff were very efficient, friendly, and knew their menu items and cocktail menu. If you only have one day in Durango Roost should be at the top of your list for dining option.

The food is always good and Joelle and the rest of the team do an amazing job We have been there many times throughout the summer and it has only gotten better!

We’re vegan so when we saw there were vegan options we wanted to give it a try. Fantastic! Our server was spot on and perfect in every way. We got a table in one of the side areas thankfully because it was nice and quiet. So if you want a quiet dining experience I recommend one of the side areas. Our friends who are not vegan have the prime Rod five stars too!

The Roost exceeded my expectations. We went on a Friday night when Durango was very busy and the Roost was packed with several big groups. My thought was this was probably going to be a tough night for good service and good food. I was wrong, the Roost is well run and the food and service were excellent. The restaurant does have bit of a bar kind of atmosphere and with the big groups it was a tad bit noisy but not off putting, and my guess is that is not normal. Shout out to Jack our server. He was definitely on it.

The Roost was Awesome!! From the time you walk in until the time you leave, you feel so welcomed!! The Host Zeke was very accommodating also. Even the chef came around to check on everyone, which was a big plus! Food was outstanding and service was excellent! Can’t wait to go back. Definitely get the prime rib and the crêpes for dessert. You won’t regret it!
