The Roebuck Inn is an historic coaching inn with rooms, in the heart of the Sussex countryside where the South Downs meet the woodlands of the Sussex Weald.
We have an extensive range of beers with an emphasis on Sussex Brewers, ably supported by the best small brewers from further afield, and a daily changing menu incorporating wonderful local ingredients, many supplied by our neighbours in the village.

We were greeted nicely felt we were welcome and were the only people left in the pub at the end of the evening we asked if they wanted us to leave and were made to feel welcome until such times as we wanted to leave. Overall a most pleasant experience we will be back probably for the classic car meet on a Thursday. Many thanks

A couple of us had the halibut from the specials menu. Delicious. Others had fish and chips which they all really enjoyed too. Great service too.

6 of us went for lunch on Wednesday 2 had steaks, 2 had burgers 1 had Gammon and i had the Chicken supreme, all remarked food was very good and my chicken was moist and the butter bean cassoulet was full of flavour, would fully recommend the dish. The service was good and helpful, but it was quiet a wait for the food to arrive.

A great country pub - fab Sunday Roast and kids meals. Lovely garden with plenty of tables and slide and swings for the little ones

We had arrived at our accommodation late in the day on my husband's birthday. Searching for a local pub that was open and serving food, The Roebuck was our only option. What a mistake!! The poor girl running the pub that evening tried her best but couldn't hope to provide us with a good experience as she was battling with many factors against her. Her main problem was dealing with the crowd of rude and noisy men crowding the bar, shouting, swearing, challenging each other to strength contests and breaking glasses. The pub was freezing cold - so cold that I wore my coat throughout the meal. The food was late in being served. She did apologise but gave the reason as being that the chef was struggling. Not sure why as I think there were only 2 other diners there. When they left, they said they would never go there again. The food was lukewarm and badly cooked and very bad value for money. We would have tried to negotiate a deal on the bill but discovered that our son had phoned through and had already paid for our meal! We have suggested to the owners of the accommodation where we stayed that they remove any reference to The Roebuck from the information they leave for the guests. We will certainly never visit the pub again!

You always know it’s a great place to eat if you’re spoilt for choice with possibilities from the menu! Food was really tasty, good size portion and great value.

Lovely village pub with a warm welcome. Plenty of easy parking. Menu was varied and food well-presented and very tasty. Cosy, relaxed ambience. Staff attentive and pleasant.

Menu choices missing and only told after order was taken. Service wasn’t as good as it has been on the weekends during the day. Sadly wasn’t very impressed as I have been before and a little embarrassing as it was the first time I had taken my friend there and recommended.
