The Rock Inn is a friendly 17th Century Inn in Georgeham, and boasts five cask marque real ales, and an extensive wine list. Our fantastically fresh food is cooked with passion and flair, and is served either beside our cosy fireside bars or in our bright and airy conservatory. We haven’t been here for years and the last time we came it was lovely. Unfortunately this time it was not a great experience. We ordered medium rare steak and the steak and ale pie. The steak had so much silverskin running through it that I gave up chewing and had to empty my mouth into my napkin and half of the chips were undercooked leaving them hard inside. The steak had zero flavour and lacked seasoning. The pie was ok but again pretty boring in terms of flavour and the mash was terrible. It was thick and lumpy and we had a contest to see whose mash would fall off first when turned upside down on a fork…. It didn’t, we both lost. The starters were nice, sharing platter but needed more than two small sachets of butter, we requested more but after some time had to ask again after which we were bought one more butter sachet. We spent £100 for two of us including a bottle of wine to share and left most of our food. We didn’t complain as it was a birthday treat and we just wanted to make the best of our evening regardless. The waitress asked if we wanted the manager when she came to collect our plates, to which we replied no, just the bill please. The restaurant became very loud to the point we couldn’t hear each other speaking. For the price of the food, £30 for the steak, the quality of the steak and lack of flavour we felt that it was overpriced. We then came back to the carpark to find we, and everyone else had been blocked in by more cars coming to the restaurant and had to go back inside to get someone to move their car, apparently this is how it works here. Overall, it wasn’t terrible but we definitely wouldn’t return for the reasons mentioned above.

Honest food cooked well and using good local ingredients. Exceeded expectations and at a good price. Will visit again when in the area.

We first visited The Rock Inn 5 years ago and loved it so made sure we visited this time we were in croyde. It did not disappoint. The setting is lovely with the vines growing overhead, food was all delicious for two adults and 4 children age 3-10. We all made ‘mmmm’ sounds! Staff are so friendly and accommodating. Toilets are clean and tastefully decorated. Will always visit this place when in Croyde!!

Excellent Sunday roast (again)! We had the Nutroast. All roasts are served with excellent selection of vegetables

Excellent food, very generous portions for the Sunday lunches. We had a selection of all the meats and they were all perfectly cooked. Great selection of veg with the cheesiest cauliflower cheese you could hope for. This is our 4 th holiday in Croyde and we would not miss The Rock Inn for a meal.

We've been to the Rock Inn a few times and we'll definitely go back again when we're in the area. The food is really exceptional and it's such a nice place in a beautiful area. We're very familiar with North Devon and it's almost certainly the best food we've had in any restaurant in that area.
