Sustainable, authentic and historic country inn and restaurant, set in rural Herefordshire

Our pub & restaurant aims to showcase the best of Herefordshire food and drink in a unique and environmentally conscious way, supplemented by our own extensive kitchen gardens and foraged from the land surrounding our inn.

Relax and unwind in our cosy bar next to our burning log burners or retire to one of our unique boutique rooms or quirky garden lodges.

    The smoked trout starter, & duck breast mains were spectacular. The food was tasty, well presented in a timely manner.

    This is the second time this year that I have eaten at The Riverside. The food gets better and better. All of the food was superb but the Herb Veloute starter was amazing. So much flavour. And an excellent wine menu. Overall an excellent experience.

    Lovely setting next to the River Lugg. Parking can be a bit difficult in the evening but usually ok at lunchtime. The pub has several cosy and comfortable dinning areas. Staff were very friendly and attentive and service was very professional. Food was delicious and was freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The ingredients were of the highest quality. The only slight criticism would be that the braised beef was slightly salty for my taste but that is a personal preference.

    Outstanding! We had the Sunday roast, with a pudding each. It was sublime. Food was cooked to perfection. Tasty, warm and the pudding was just insane! We haven’t stopped talking about it and will definitely be going back!

    Absolutely love this place. Excellent Maitre’d greeted us warmly and we were made to feel very welcome. Service and food were excellent.

    An outstanding meal using delicious locally sourced ingredients. Excellent service, friendly yet efficient. Would definitely recommend.

    A good choice of starters and mains for most tastes, expertly cooked and served by friendly, efficient staff. A bit disappointed in the potatoes and carrots served as an accompaniment to all mains at a time when there are more interesting and varied vegetables available. Desserts could also reflect the fruits available in summer too - we weren't tempted by those on the menu but a lovely touch was the unexpected presentation of a little anniversary plate of chocolate cake and strawberries to share, also fudge with our tea and coffee. We will be back!

    Lovely lunch today. Recommend this lovely pub for lunch and supper for any occasion. One of my favourites in the county
