Our pub & restaurant aims to showcase the best of Herefordshire food and drink in a unique and environmentally conscious way, supplemented by our own extensive kitchen gardens and foraged from the land surrounding our inn.

    I had a superb experience at The Riverside, with excellent service and fabulous food. Each dish was simply described on the menu, and as locally sourced as possible. They beautifully presented when they arrived and were delicious with every mouthful. I aimed to eat dishes I wouldn't normally choose at a restaurant, andin this case I began with a snack of Herefordshire snails, followed by a cheese dumpling as a starter. The snails were fried in batter as opposed to being in shells, and were crispy and delightful- similar to deep fried cockles but without the tang, whilst the cheese dumpling was a small medallion of cheese with the flavour of a ploughmans. For a main course, I had chicken. This was a breast pan fried and served with vegetables. It was perfect and every mouthful was a joy. The dishes appear small though I had to force a dessert as I was quite full, but I did not want to miss out. I opted for a savarine, being a small cake loaded with coulis, ice cream and creme fraische. As my children would say, it was "banging". Pricewise, you'd pay at least a third more closer to a city. My feeling is that it's only a matter of time before the chef, Andy Link receives some serious recognition for his cooking, so make the most of it while you can!

    Outstanding service, food and venue. We’ve been coming here for 24 years and we always have a wonderful meal. Thoroughly recommend

    Another really excellent meal, as we can reliably expect from The Riverside. Starters, mains and a single dessert were all delicious- unfortunately the accompanying (and scarcely required) mixed green vegetables were rather overcooked (or had been standing overlong under a hot light), but that was really a minor blemish during a busy service and did not detract from our overall enjoyment. Some interesting wines on the list - but the mark-up is perhaps a little steep.

    Amazing food, great service and fast. Very accommodating on modifying plates to be dairy free. Nice ambience would highly reccomend.

    Sunday Lunch at The Riverside continues to be one of our favourite restaurants in this area. Staff always welcoming, cheerful and attentive. Food excellent and good quantities served. What else can be said?

    Fantastic and a third visit for us. Food is exemplary (I had duo of beef and my wife had the hake), and this was a Saturday lunchtime and a last minute reservation.Service is great. A must if you are in the “ neighbourhood”. PS Sunday lunch is also a triumph!

    Fantastic all round. Cooking that's tasty and fun enough to please 40-something foodies, and comfortable and familiar enough to please my elderly parents. Particular shout-out to our host, who came out to the riverside tables to take our order while we were drinking aperitifs. It feels like the staff here genuinely care that you have a good time. :-)
