You can’t beat the outside tables. Right on the river.

So excited to eat outside next to the river for WaterFire only to find that there were only 5 entres and not one option for the vegetarian or gluten free patrons. When asked if they could make an option available the owner stated this “wasn’t the restaurant for you” and went on to say we would have a hard time finding a dining option with these restrictions. We to leave. We stayed 48 hours and found plenty of gf and vegetarian options thank goodness.

If I could have given this restaurant/experience zero stars, I would have. It was not easily made known that it is an extremely limited menu on the night of the waterfires. We witnessed several parties get up and leave their reservation when they realized they only have 4 or 5 meals to choose from. I wish we got up and left as well so we did not have to endure the horrible service and treatment from our waiter, Henry. A member of our party simply asked for a glass of water…after sitting and waiting without any water, she reminded the waiter of this simple request. when she did that, he made a snarky comment and insinuated that she was fiesty for asking again, and said that she essentially “came at him,” and that he was only saying it as a joke that was misinterpreted. Instead of just apologizing and attempting to turn around the night towards a positive direction, he came back and said that he just wanted to tell us that he has had a hard day, and that we should be more understanding since he has had a harder day than us. This was extremely ignorant and unprofessional. After this, he continued to deliver poor service — to the point where he did not return to the table to check on us or offer more drinks, didn’t offer water to anyone else at the table, or check to see if the below-average food was good. He didn’t bring cutlery or deliver us our meals, we had to seek out other staff for assistance. All he did was drop the check at the table without a word when HE decided we were done, and send a colleague to retrieve it to run the card. An attempt was made on our end to speak with management to close the loop on this situation, but we were told he was “too busy.” All of this to say, save yourself the aggravation and continue along the river to another restaurant for dinner and drinks. Our waiter even recommended Circe to the table behind us that also didn’t find this restaurant acceptable. Not even being dramatic — zero stars.

We were not told it was a limited menu until after we ordered drinks, 20 minutes after we sat down we were given a menu with 4 options. It was cafeteria food at best.

We came to the River Bistro for Sunday Brunch on the River. Our food was excellent. Both of us had the Seafood Benedict and it was delicious. Unfortunately the service was very disappointing. It was early when we were there and there seemed to be only two waitstaff. It took many minutes before we were acknowledged and even longer to get our order. Also we noticed that the nearby tables were not being bused and dirty dishes were left to draw insects. A beautiful site and very good food but we will not be returning.

great value, and the brunch food is great. highly recommend bottomless mimosas- its an amazing deal and its so fun

We reserved outdoor seating for dinner on a Waterfire evening but they didn’t have a table available and sat us indoors, which was not the experience we were looking.

The food was pretty good- nice omelette, very delicious Bloody Mary. Staff was attentive and came back to the table often- which is good because they did keep forgetting things but forgivable as they were able to bring them back on the next round. The view is unbeatable- and sitting outside next to the river in providence on a Sunday morning is a gorgeous way to pass the time. Would return for the view and to try some lunch options (came here for brunch, had breakfast foods).
