The Ridley is THE destination for upscale-casual dining and fresh seafood offerings in Charlottesville, Virginia. Located within The Draftsmen boutique hotel, The Ridley combines convenience and accessibility with an unparalleled dining experience. As one of Charlottesville’s Black-owned restaurants, the concept pays homage to Dr. Walter N. Ridley, the first Black student to graduate from The University of Virginia and receive a graduate degree from any major, historically white public university in the South.

Great meal! I would recommend the mac and cheese as an appetizer, it was delicious! The Shrimp and Grits and the Chicken and Waffles are great. Would recommend for a good dinner in the area!

We ordered a golden beet salad and it only had three paper thin Slices of beet in the entire salad. My wife and I both ordered eggs Benedict and all four poached eggs were completely overcooked with a rockhard yoke. Disappointed

Tasty food for quality and value. Server was excellent. Your 4 rather than 5 stars is due to cleanliness, or lack thereof. The tables were not clean and there was food underneath on the floor. You must control this more efficiently between patrons to keep your ant problem under control. Ants were crawling all over and guess what? Your ant problem outside is now inside with an open partition.

This was our first time here, stayed at the Draftsman hotel and made reservations for dinner to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Shelley was our server and she was outstanding, treated us like royalty and took care of every need and want. The food was amazing! We will definitely return!

The Korean BBQ Cauliflower was incredible! The doors were open because the weather was beautiful (did make the place more noisy, but not bothersome).

Service at a nice restaurant can make or break a meal; in our case at The Ridley, it was a BUST! The food, drinks, and ambience were fine, but not worth the high price. The waitress seemed to forget about us, brought our refills on drinks when our dinner was just about finished, and never offered us dessert or coffee afterwards, just plopped the check down on the table and walked away. Also, when I made the reservation, I specifically said in two places that we were celebrating an anniversary, but the waitress made no mention of it, nor did anyone else in the restaurant. Our experience at The Ridley was disappointing, to say the least.
