Ribaut Social Club is a restaurant and social space for Beaufort locals and visitors to mingle over cocktails and impeccable regional cuisine.
Our aim is to capture the incorrigible spirit and convivial atmosphere of the original Ribaut Club, established at the Anchorage in 1891. In its heyday, the Club hosted performances, grand parties, dances and even gambling—a raucous getaway from buttoned-up social strictures of the time. Today, guests can cocktails and dinner with unrivaled water views or a sophisticated brunch surrounded by 300 years of Beaufort history.

So much has changed since Chef Dan has left. The menu was uninspiring and had very few choices. My filet ordered medium rare and I specifically requested more rare than medium and it was cooked medium and had little flavor. This would have never happened with Chef Dan at the helm. The accompanying parsnip purée was cool, the carrots although beautiful were crunchy and undercooked. My mother ordered the scallops which did not disappoint but the look of the dish with white scallops and white cauliflower seemed unappealing. The choices of appetizers were standard - burrata and kale salad, for example, and were nondescript. Ribaut has always been our go to for an exceptional dining experience and we were always glad to pay $50 for an entree because of the quality and execution but the prices have jumped unreasonable so - $60+ for most entrees is especially high. Beware the menu on the website is not representative of what is actually presented to you while dining. I wish wish the new chef well and maybe it’s just growing pains but there is much room for improvement and variety in the menu offerings and execution.

Visited the Social Club in a Friday evening ( with reservations) at 7 pm . Sat on the huge Southern front porch with a view of the marsh. 6 other tables were also seated. The food was delicious: I ordered the chef’s take on chicken n dumplings and my husband had the scallops. The dessert was a chocolate mouse. The only negative I will say was the service was slow. The waiter and waitress were attentive with refilling our glasses and pleasant but the overall service was slow. We did not mind because both my husband and I have worked in this industry and 100% understand when a new hire is being trained or when there is a big event being attended to during regular dinner hours . We had no plans after dinner so we just enjoyed the view , the beauty of the old house, and conversation.

Spectacular sunset views and special anniversary celebration at Ribault Social Club at the Anchorage 1770 Inn. Located right on Bay Street, this historic property offers a great spot for seeing the waterfront. Brian was a wonderful server, and he helped to make our first trip to Beaufort very memorable. We had a nice conversation with some Beaufort locals sitting next to us who recommended a few sites to visit in town. We’ll definitely be back.

Nice alternative in Beaufort, as there are not many nice dining establishments here. In a historic old home that is now a hotel, this restaurant was a great revelation to my wife and I. Our meals were prepared perfectly; cocktails were brought to us as we waited for table to be made ready. The dining room is small but not tight. If you are looking for criticism- It is a little pricey, but that seems to be everything now, and the menu is limited to a few selections. I would recommend to anyone who does not mind spending ~$200 on dinner/drinks for 2 people.

This was our first time and the building is lovely. Service was outstanding as was the food. We loved that the menu changes all the time based on what is available locally and fresh.

Being a self-proclaimed "foodie" I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world and can honestly say that our experience of the Ribault Social Club at the Anchorage 1770 ranks among the best. I am almost apologetic for not having discovered it sooner for visiting guests and family. The quality of the food, the attention to detail, the flavors, the presentation, all, were superb. It left such a lasting impression that we immediately booked a dinner reservation for the following weekend. Honestly, can't wait.
