    Really great service and the food was excellent. The little plates that we could all share and the desserts were delicious.

    Not as great as a year ago. Kids food was very average e.g. dry burger bun and dry meat and the fish fingers arrived and it was a mountain of chips, some dry peas and one piece of dry breaded fish. Adult roast was much better quality but not as good quality as last year's and sadly it took an age to come out. We waited about 40 mins after the starter. In fairness the staff realised and we were offered free deserts, which were all nice. Gets pretty noisy in such a big space, a lot of echo, mixed with the music in the bar and overall it was noisy. No issue with the music that was on and overall the layout works and it's a lovely historic setting to be in, but they need some more sound deadening fitted strategically. Overall, I'd recommend it to a friend, but I'd have to caveat it and tell them it wasn't as tasty and relaxing as last time.

    My friends came over from Sheffield for Sunday lunch. They were very impressed with the food, service & the beautiful room. I have been on numerous occasions- my food was lukewarm & once mentioned it was replaced , however the carrots on my 2nd plate were not cooked properly.

    Always one of my favourite places architecturally. Meal great and service friendly. Just missed off one part of our order

    Standards have dropped in the restaurant. Rubbish on the floor, dirty pepper grinder, naff fake plastic candles and for the average food we ate, I felt like it was overpriced. Early doors on a Wednesday so it's not like the restaurant was busy. Just felt a bit unloved really. Real shame because it used to be so much better. Waitress was excellent though.

    Best roast in Manchester hands down. Second time visiting and we’re already planning our third trip. Love that it’s also dog friendly

    We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. One of the best we’ve had. Beautiful building and really comfortable dinning. Our table was ready and we were seated straight away. We ordered the sharing lunch between two of us with pigs in blankets as a side. It was enormous and could easily feed 3 adults. Food came out quickly, it was hot and really tasty. Potatoes and veg all cooked perfectly. The meats were all really nice but we both agreed the chicken was the tastiest we’d ever had on a Sunday lunch in Manchester. Service was good but drinks a little slow arriving we could see them sat on the bar waiting to be served and had to ask for them! We will definitely be returning soon. Would highly recommend.

    Awful, truly awful. Leathery roast potatoes, concrete Yorkshire pudding. I left most of it. I was charged £238 for the privilege. Very unhappy. Recommend avoiding at all costs.
