Best roast in Manchester hands down. Second time visiting and we’re already planning our third trip. Love that it’s also dog friendly

Awful, truly awful. Leathery roast potatoes, concrete Yorkshire pudding. I left most of it. I was charged £238 for the privilege. Very unhappy. Recommend avoiding at all costs.

Service is good,staff are friendly and helpful. Food was not good for value. Beef eye reb stake was raw and cold, potato salad has lots of hair in it.Portions are small.I won't go back and won't recommend this place.

Very different place to eat, they serve a take on tapas and each of the dishes we ordered were super tasty and decent size portions. The building is beautiful with high ceilings, pillars, tiles and lots of green plans. Tables are nicely spaced out. Drinks slightly pricey but this is a unique place in a major city so acceptable. Big bonus it is literally across the road from Palace Theatre so perfect for pre-Theatre meal. We went Saturday lunch before matinee and serves was perfectly timed to get us in our seats 10 minutes before show started.

The Refuge is a modern restaurant the menu is good and so is the food but the service is the worst I have seen. Very badly managed. I bought a cake for my daughter and the restaurant failed to bring it out it spoiled our celebrations. The dishes all arrived at different times. Will not go again.

Opted for sunday lunch share platter £65 for two. Arrived cold veg, presentation poor, meat 3 x very very small beef slices, chicken just dumped on top, pork fatty. Service was shocking no one came to ask if food was OK when served took me 20 min to get up and find someone. Waiting for drinks ordered never arrived just a really really bad experience tbh the worst have ever had in a restaurant ever with such high expectations. For the price of the dish the only warm part was the chicken and gravy. Never write reviews but it was very bad.

Well done nice place to have a Sunday roast. Really enjoyed the experience nice red wine (spanish one)

Love our Sunday roast at the Refuge. Love the room, staff and great to bring our dog along. Only downside this time was that the beef was over done and tough / sinewy but we had mixed meats and the roast chicken and porchetta was great. The veg was also great. Overall a good experience and a lovely way to spend Sunday afternoon.
