The Waring is one of my favourite restaurants in Prince Edward County. Chef Michael Sullivan is incredible. Every bite is delicious and the presentation is gorgeous. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and lovely. It can be a bit pricey but it is worth it!

Wonderful late summer dinner at Merrill House. Food was spectacular, quite possibly the best beef tenderloin I have ever had, excellent accompanying items and all beautifully presented. Fresh greens and fruit from local producers added so much flavour and desserts were next level… Service was perhaps a bit rushed but pleasant. Great ambiance and sound level was just right. Definitely worth a return visit!

On our recent trip to PEC we booked Merrill House for dinner. We arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately and given drink menus (even before the first dinner seating). The food, drinks and service were amazing! We will definitely return.

The food my guests and I ate was delicious thankfully, because the rest of our experience left a lot to be desired. I had been greatly looking forward to dining at Merrill House, until about 5 minutes into arriving. The older woman who served us made it very clear we were irritating her with every interaction. We were served cocktails that we not made correctly at all, but didn’t feel we could speak up about this. We would have preferred if she had simply told us she did not know how to make classics. The wine I ordered could not be found, so we settled for one that was on a close shelf. The actual food we ate was wonderful! Unfortunately while great service can save bad food… bad service unfortunately can ruin great food! For the prices of the dishes and the bill; I would expect to at least not feel like we were irritants in needing to be served, rather treated like valued guests in a high end establishment.

Always a favourite. Felt compelled to say that the service wasn’t great. Lamb over cooked. Everything else was very good Server never refilled glasses or checked on how everything was. A little disappointed with that. Still love this place!

Amazing food and great service. The duck and lamb shank were delicious. The dessert was great and the selection of wines was excellent and good value. The atmosphere was elegant and perfect for a special occasion. Great find in the heart of Picton.

The food is definitely the star of the show at the Merrill House. There were four of us at the table, and as it happened, we all ordered totally different meals. Kudos to the chef -- every one of the dishes got a rave review. Who knew gnocchi could taste so good? Arctic char so moist? Lamb so flavourful? and on and on. It was a splendid meal served by a charming staff. The only real drawback -- the ambience. It felt like we were sitting in an (empty) concrete swimming pool. Crying out for a decorator to solve the space.

The food was incredible! The best steak my husband has ever had. The service by Kaylynn was friendly yet professional. She was very helpful explainingthe menu items and knowledgeable about everything. The room had a lovely ambiance, but you do need a jacket or sweater since the room is kept at a cool temperature for the wine storage.
