The Refectory is a stunning restaurant located on Lancaster Avenue in Villanova. The menu features modern and upscale interpretations of American comfort classics such as homemade pastas, wood-fired flatbreads, a raw bar, craft cocktails and specialty homemade desserts. Our kitchen's philosophy is to keep it simple and straightforward, with a lot of thought and technique put behind each dish and ingredient. The goal is to let each ingredient shine.

The Refectory is open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. We validate parking in the I-1 garage across the street. For parties of 9 or more guests, please contact the restaurant directly by calling (610) 519-5786 or by emailing info@refectorynova.com. Please call or email with any questions and we will return your message.

PARKING GARAGE INFORMATION: Parking is only available across the street from The Refectory at the Villanova I-1 Parking Garage located on South Ithan Avenue. There are no timing restrictions for vehicles parked at the I-1 Parking Garage for guests dining at The Refectory. The rates are as follows: the 1st hour is free, two hours is $2, and up to four hours is $5. Currently, we do not validate parking. Upon entry, pull a ticket and park on any of the first 3 floors. A pay machine accepting cash and credit is located by the Main Pedestrian Entrance/Exit on Floor 2. The exit lanes only accept credit cards and do not accept cash. To get to the Refectory from the Parking Garage from Floor 2, use the pedestrian walkway across Ithan Avenue. The Refectory is located in The Commons, the stone mixed-use residential and commercial building on the corner of Ithan & Lancaster Avenue. Look for restaurant signage and call us at 610-519-5786 if you have any issues

Went here for lunch and it took over 90 minutes to get two mahi tacos and three sliders. Wasn’t super busy and several people arrived after us and were served food before us. Wouldn’t visit here again.

I had a delicious lunch at The Refectory. The Brussels sprouts were so flavorful. The Turkey sandwich was delicious. The ricotta donuts were a perfect ending. I shared the sprouts and the donuts with my lunch partner. Our server was Daniel. He was OUTSTANDING! He was friendly, attentive, knew the menu inside and out and had great suggestions. 5 stars to Daniel!

I wish they had a bigger menu. It’s tough to find something I want with such limited options.

Our dinner was outstanding. The new fall menu was terrific, the yellow fish tuna was AMAZING. Our waiter Tim was friendly, helpful, and provided terrific service!

We had dinner here the Friday night of Family Weekend. It was a busy & lively evening. The food & service were both great. Thanks for a nice evening.

Always an amazing meal with impeccable service. Very lively and fun atmosphere. Love the Buffalo cauliflower and the Nova fries. The sticky toffee pudding dessert is also delicious!

We were in the side room which had less ambiance but was quieter which was good. We had a great lunch with our Villanova student who is gluten free also. My husband and I had mahi tacos which were good and we all enjoyed the fries (which were fried in separate GF fryer). We’ll be back for sure over the next 4 years.

Starting with the good, the service was friendly and accommodating. When they carded my son they noticed it was his birthday and kindly acknowledged it and brought him a free dish of ice cream after the meal. The ambiance is really nice. Warm classic wood look throughout without being stuffy. The food unfortunately did not meet expectations. Perhaps I have an undiscerning palate but it seemed like they tried to elevate fairly regular fare but missed the mark. The mini crab cakes were deep fried with a thick crunchy shell coating and had very little discernible crab meat. The pepperoni flat bread had a sweet honey flavor that didn’t really work. The biggest issue was the risotto which was much more like some kind of carrot and mushroom stew. Very little rice. Not at all creamy like you’d expect a risotto. The gnocchi was tasty but the portion of actual gnocchu seemed small, swimming in a sauce. Overall pretty disappointed.

I do not hesitate to recommend The Refectory! The food was excellent! The service could not have been better! It was a wonderful night for my husband's birthday made even better by everything provided by the Refectory staff and the ambiance of the restaurant itself.
