The Reef is a gathering spot that captures the heart of the seadog in all of us. It feels like home port in all the right ways, and acknowledges the wanderlust and adventurous spirit in every sailors soul. Situated dockside in Newport Harbor, The Reef is a waterfront restaurant serving international cuisine inspired by the travels of sailors to ports around the world, with a drink selection to suit every taste. Our versatile harborside space is great for intimate gatherings and large celebrations alike, yet casual enough for spontaneous come-as-you-are get-togethers. Beautiful view, drinks were great, service was just okay and food also just okay. Food took a while to come out and was cold when it did come out.

Service was slow, waitstaff could’ve been friendly. Food was okay at best but the ambience outside on the patio was the reason we went and we were not disappointed in that aspect.

Great location to be able to dine right on the water. Lobster rolls were delicious as was the mocktail I ordered. Steel drums/music was lively and fun. Loved the selection of items and the kids menu which was a very generous portion. (Tip-- we had to ask for the kids menu despite sitting for a while with our kid in a highchair). Knocked a star off because the bathrooms were pretty unkempt, and I saw a bug in the stall which is never a great feeling. For the price/quality of the food and dining atmosphere, I think the bathrooms should be kept a bit more clean and orderly. Otherwise, wonderful experience and would return.

Beautifully located outdoor seating. We loved being next to the water/boats and being able to bring our dogs. Excellent, friendly service. We enjoyed our meal and plan to eat here again.

Came for dinner during the Newport boat show. Disappointed that a place called The Reef did not have more seafood on the menu. Had the shrimp scampi shrimp, it was fine. Not a lot of flavor
