The Red Lion Restaurant is a great traditional, warm & friendly country pub in the heart of stunning Penyffordd.

HOMEMADE SUNDAY LUNCH

Join us from 12pm to 7pm every Sunday for one of the best homemade Sunday lunches in the region. Hand cut, fresh and locally sourced vegetables & meats complimented by homemade gravy’s and sides.

SPRING MENU

We are thrilled to launch our new Spring Menu, Lounge Menu and our new & improved Sunday Menu as well as our weekly Chef's Specials Menu.

Our Main Menu, Lounge Menu & Chef's Specials Menu will be available

~ Friday & Saturday 12pm - 9pm

Had a lovely meal at the Red Lion,the food was cooked very nice and the staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend the Sunday lunch.

We attended for the Tapas night and we were not disappointed. From arrival the staff appeared happy to see us and to help us with our choices. The food was out of this world, like being back on holiday. We hope that they continue with the tapas menu, it makes a nice change from the superb main menu. 6 Stars

On arrival at the Red Lion, we had to wait while the bar staff served the regulars and in the end I had to shout my order out so it wasn’t a good star. We were shown our table and ordered our starters and more drinks which were served in a reasonable time, the starters were very nice. We had to wait a shoestring while to order our mains even though the restaurant was not full, when the mains arrived my plate was overfull of chips and ham? The ham was not as advertised on the menu and was obviously defrosted as it was watery and tasteless again we waited a considerable amount of time for the plates to be served and to order desert and another drink which was unpleasant and flat.

A lovely place to have a meal, good service from the staff,my cottage pie was HOT,and delicious, the apple crumble and custard rounded off the meal wonderfully, highly recommend this establishment!👍🤓💜

Another brilliant Sunday lunch at the Red Lion. A massive thanks to Phoebe and her team on even though being full were very efficient and welcoming. The Sunday lunch is always brilliant with fresh vegetables and roast potatoes just like at home with gravy to die for. I would recommend the triple roast and I had lamb, beef and ham which will fill most people without the need for any of the beautiful desserts. Would definitely recommend 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Overall the food was average. I feel like for the price it could have been much better. The children’s cheeseburger was extremely dry and my son couldn’t eat it. Despite saying this to one of the waitresses we only got a ‘oh I’m sorry’ ….. I never complain. The lasagne was lovely. The salt and pepper chicken was ok. It was accompanied with plain boiled rice with no sauce so had to ask for soy to make it palatable.
