Welcome to The Red Lion Bishopgate!

We serve fresh, locally sourced food all day, everyday. Our head chef Tom has created a menu suitable for everyone, including GF, Vegan, Vegetarian options.
Brunch is also available 7 days a week, 10:00am-12 noon (11:30am on Sundays). Please see below our food serving times:

Monday - Thursday: 12:00-20:00
Friday & Saturday: 12:00-21:00
Sunday: 12:00-16:00, followed by a pop up from Blues NR3 by the river (please note we will not be serving roasts during the summer).
We always leave some tables free, so if you can't make a booking just pop in to see if you can grab a table!

Please note, your booking is allocated for 2 hours.

Tables in the garden are rain proof and we do have heating, but may not be suitable in heavy rain.

Great service and great quality food at a good price. Disappointed that they stopped doing roast dinners as my previous visits had enjoyed them greatly.

Not much choice as many dishes were not available due to running out. Our steak was cooked well but the sauce was actually a knob of frozen garlic butter! The salad was bland and green leaf only very disappointing. Not sure if the chips were hand cut either. Would like to go back when full menu is available!!! £23 Basic for price

Lovely food. Was a delay on the food as very busy, but we were not in a rush so didn't bother us. Relaxed atmosphere and staff were great. Will definitely be coming back for a return visit.

Easy to book on line I then rang them to confirm I could bring a dog. Phone quickly answered and yes it’s a dog friendly pub. Great location, easy to find, had a drink at the bar then our table was ready. Service was quick and efficient, great food choices . Food was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend for either a drink and food. Would visit again !!

Could not fault service but the food wasn’t as good as we have had here before! Fish was very greasy and tasted like old oil and the portion size of 1 of our party who had Gnocchi was very small for £16! We have always enjoyed meals here before but food standards seem to have slipped unfortunately.

We went for a Sunday dinner! But sadly they only operate a "summer menu" through our so called summer, which was really disappointing 😞 as we were really looking forward to a hearty roast 😕 So I ordered the beef burger which was very good 😋 but you can get a burger anywhere 🤔 When did pubs start operating summer menu's ????? At least one roast would have been nice as an option xx

The table was ready for us when we arrived and I immediately noticed the broad range of people in the pub, from young hipsters to smart older folk. This is a good sign.They had a good range of beer on tap and the food was very good. Add this to the riverside location and you've got a winner.

Food and service very good,plenty of choice on the menu,party of five and we all choose a different dish and were pleased with our choices! I had rang earlier about changing our booking from outside to inside and this was easily done.
