Welcome to The Red Lion Bishopgate!

We serve fresh, locally sourced food all day, everyday. Our head chef Tom has created a menu suitable for everyone, including GF, Vegan, Vegetarian options.
Brunch is also available 7 days a week, 10:00am-12 noon (11:30am on Sundays). Please see below our food serving times:

Monday - Thursday: 12:00-20:00
Friday & Saturday: 12:00-21:00
Sunday: 12:00-16:00, followed by a pop up from Blues NR3 by the river (please note we will not be serving roasts during the summer).
We always leave some tables free, so if you can't make a booking just pop in to see if you can grab a table!

Please note, your booking is allocated for 2 hours.

Tables in the garden are rain proof and we do have heating, but may not be suitable in heavy rain.

Lovely pub to eat by the river just a shame that on a Wednesday afternoon we waited nearly 40 minutes for our food 🙁, the pub was not packed so not quite sure why? - The food was lovely and the staff were friendly.

First time visiting here, Sunday lunch, really impressive with the quality. Staff were attentive. Will be returning .

Lovely roast, the best I've encountered in a long while. Only downside for me was the huge portion, one meal ample for the two of us. Will be ordering off the children's menu next time.

We had a Sunday roast and it was possibly one of the best I’ve had in a long time.

The whole lunch was awful, we got drinks from the bar, ordered fairly swiftly then waited an hour for a rubbery steak with dry packet salad, 3 small plates of chicken wings which came on saucers with crumbled Stilton and red cabbage, disgusting all of it, the manager took the food of the bill no quibble as she saw it was awful. Why let it come out of the kitchen, the fish and chips were apparently fine. No Sunday roast which is why we booked, it was just awful, and it was a birthday lunch. Do less tables and replace the chef. Just rubbish.
