The Red Fox is an Italian American restaurant and lounge brought to you by All Day Hospitality Group (Tony & Elaine's, Ciao Roma, Farmacia, Ward 8). The focus of the menu is on handmade pasta and a mix of throwback dishes and Italian classics, with a fantastic cocktail menu with nostalgic martinis and high quality seasonal cocktails, and an excellent wine list. Located in The North End, The Red Fox pays homage to the Italian American neighborhood and some of the great old school establishments in the city.

The ambiance and drinks were great, but the food was lacking. Service was a bit slow, but we were there on a weeknight so maybe that's why. It's expensive for the quality of food.

Experience was just ok. Cool atmosphere. Sat at the bar, bartenders were rude and unfriendly considering they were not that busy. They were complaining about being over worked with no days off. We’re not at all engaged with any of the customers. Cocktail list was very limited for a cocktail bar. Food was just ok. Would recommend for a drink but nothing more than that. Would not return

More rules than prison as far as times and dining had two seats at the bar very comfortable got there half hour early asked the hostess if I could just stay there and give my table to a walk in she refused said it couldn’t be done never experienced that in my life so instead of spending $500 on their overpriced menu I spent $150 on two apps and two drinks and it’s way to dark in the dining room. Terrible night

Phil, thanks for taking time to write a review. We’re a small place and also take bar seat reservations. We’d love to have you have stayed at the bar but I’m not quite sure what we would have said to our other reservations and wait list guests who specifically reserved those seats. In the future you’re more than welcome to reserve the bar or if we have walk in space we’re more than happy to accommodate.

Service from bartender and waiter was unpleasant, not welcoming at all. Almost felt as if they were too cool. The potato crisp was good, the pasta was way too salty. Like we left a whole plate untouched and the waiter didn’t even question why that was.

This was our first time at the Red Fox, even though we live just down the street. (A lot of word of mouth and “buzz” about it in the neighborhood.) We sat at the bar, something we often enjoy when eating out, and the bartender was excellent, even though it was quite busy. (My partner had a couple well made martinis with dinner.) The food was excellent, especially the pasta with a mushroom “ragout”….have never encountered such a dish, almost like a meat ragout but with a rich, hearty mushroom sauce, and it was a taste sensation! My partner had the pasta with clams, also very tasty with a nice spicy kick to it. The look of the restaurant strikes me as a bit strange…I know they’re going for a dark, intimate, “speakeasy” vibe, but I wondered at times if it was a bit TOO dark, and the lampshades on the bar sometimes impeded the bartender’s reach. That said, the dark wood, red swivel seats, and other decorative touches made for a unique atmosphere. I should also mention that the hostesses and servers were all very warm and gracious. For a place that has no sign out in front, it was surprisingly busy, and we were happy to see that this space that has been empty for so long has now been put to good use. We will definitely be back, not just because it’s so close by, but because the food and service were excellent. Thank you and good luck on this new venture!

Loved Red Fox, hard to find. Super sexy vibe inside. Food was good , highly recommend prosciutto and Zepoli appetizer and rice balls definately should go, good date night place!

Our server was lovely and attentive, and mgmt. even stepped in to clear plates and such when they noticed things were ready to be cleared. The vibe of the restaurant was great. The decor was perfect for the vibe. The music was even so perfect. The food was delicious. Pricey, but at least taste matched it, so you get what you pay for. Highly recommend!

We had a great night at The Red Fox! The drinks were delicious. Try the Aglio e Pepe for something totally different- this might be my favorite martini ever. The food was also fabulous. We had the Strangolapretti, the seasonal pasta appetizer (which was filled with short rib), the orecchiette with pistachio pesto, and the prosciutto & zeppole for dessert (technically an appetizer, but it's our ideal dessert). All of these things were just succulent! We sat at the bar and had a great time talking to the bartenders. Recommend for a nice night out!

Such a great spot- expect a dark intimate dinner club ambience from the 70’s era. Very good food and interesting creative drinks!
