We've never had a bad meal at The Red Dory. People don't really ask what restaurant you'd take to a desert Island but, I gotta say, I've been stranded on Aquidneck Island for three years now and it's a bit of a restaurant desert. The Red Dory is among like three restaurants within a half hour that absolutely never disappoints. It is my desert island restaurant, and though we're moving back to NYC and all the choices it offers, we will absolutely miss the cod cassoulet, the fluke Ceviche, the best chowder in New England, and by far the best servers you could fit under a roof. We will undoubtedly wish we had a Red Dory in the greatest city on Earth. It's probably a stretch to say I'd risk sharing the roads with you people again just for a meal at The Red Dory but if I have to come back for a funeral or something like that I'll definitely be happy to make a stop for a beautiful meal at one of my favorite restaurants on the planet.

We arrived early on a Sunday evening and were greeted by our host and seated by the window overlooking Sakonnet River. Our server was Cas who was personable and attentive from begining to end. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer which came out really fast and it was cooked just right. Crispy but not rubbery, it came with a delicious unique sauce that was not the usual overused marinara. Both of us enjoyed the Steak Frites which melted in our mouths along with a delicious paring of Sicilian Red wine. The owner stopped by our table to check on everything and I cannot say enough about the service! The QR code menu is kind of a pain especially when I had to go back to it to show the server the wine I wanted but other than that trivial complaint everything was very enjoyable. I highly recommend the Red Dory and Open Table made it very easy and convenient to book our reservation!

We love the food at The Red Dory. We had great service and food. We tried to use our $70 credit on a digital gift card but they were not able to find my record from our last purchase or from the person that bought the gift card for us. The receipt we had, had a code on it but it was not any help to the staff that tried to look it up. Not a great system if it cannot be found in their system. Very disappointed in that. DFJ
