The Red Cow pub is now run by a Top 50 gastro food an award-winning chef, who brings a wealth of culinary expertise to the kitchen, having spent five years as Head Chef at the award winning pub The Hole In The Wall in Little Wilbraham, Cambridge before moving on to become Head Chef at The Elm Tree Inn, Elm, Cambridgeshire .

Tryfun’s reputation for creating immaculately presented and flavourful dishes helped both pubs to gain the most popular gastropubs in and around Cambridge.

We have nothing but praise for this lovely place. We requested a quiet area as my mother is disabled and has dementia and can struggle in busy environments. The waitress spotted this request on our booking and showed us to a quiet table, whilst sensitively and discreetly saying to me that we were welcome to swap chairs around if that would be more helpful. The kitchen staff were happy to honour our request that the meat on my mother’s plate was cut smaller than ours to help her eat independently. These things made for a very relaxed and enjoyable time for us all. Sometimes eating out for our family can be difficult but the kindness of the staff here ensured we had a lovely time and it meant the world to us. The food was outstanding (x3 roast meals and a burger - all delicious!), as well as some wonderful desserts). We will absolutely be back! Thank you to everyone for your kindness and a lovely lunch x

Excellent welcome and attentive service. Selection of dishes interesting with some regular pub food style and some alternatives. Food was delicious- mushroom starter sauce so silky creamy and prawns were lovely. Mains also very good flavours (lamb curry and pork tenderloin) Drinks not too bad- not sure if new wine list has started. Food is not cheap- but that is the current market- presentation and quality makes it worth while. New owners seem to be looking to improve what they have rather than change too much.

The menu offers a nice selection if dishes across all the courses. Food was really well prepared and the cheery chef made an appearance to say hello and check all was good. Service was good but not overbearing. I'd thoroughly recommend this pub!

The hotel side of things looked lovely, and the pub was also full of character. Food-wise we expected more; the burger was nice, but the prawn starter lacked caramelisation, risotto ok, lacked seasoning. The team was very nice.
