The food and service were excellent. The scallops melted into my mouth. My group shared the Little Gem salad and the tomatoes, both were delicious. Alex was our server. We have had her on many occasions and as usual we were not disappointed. Coming to dinner at The Raymond is like going home for a home cooked meal surrounded by family.

This was our first time visiting the Raymond and we couldn’t be happier. Alex, our server was the best and made amazing recommendations! The food was wonderful, fresh and the character of the restaurant is consistent with the rich history of South Pasadena. We can’t wait to return.

Brunch was sooooo good. The Garden omelette, a new menu item with egg whites was great and a nice addition to the menu. Also the Apple Coffee Cake starter was beautifully done. Our server Carlos and his assistant were very attentive. We love going to The Raymond for a wonderful dining experience.

Met friends for dinner on the fireside patio. The wait staff were wonderful, made great recommendations regarding food and cocktails. The food was fabulous, as always. Three of us ordered short ribs, 1 ordered sea bass and one had scallops. Then we had the s’mores dessert. Wonderful, relaxed dinner. We will return again and again.

Had a reservation for one at the bar but it was being used for a managers meeting. I was given a choice to seat inside or outside. I preferred the outside because it seemed like it would get more service than inside. If you want a refreshing summer cocktail, the Stomazzi and its tropical notes will give you that cool refreshing summer feeling. Wish it came with free refills. Ordered the bread & butter and burrata and heirloom tomatoes. The bread had a really tough exterior. I recommend dipping it with balsamic glaze from the burrata and heirloom tomatoes or you could make a facsimile of a bruschetta, either way is delicious. For my main course, I had the Chilean Bass. It was perfectly cooked: crunchy crust and soft moist flavorful flesh. The forbidden rice was nutty, sweet, and earthy. The curry was very light and not overpowering, it’s as spicy as you’d normally associate curries. Most curries have that strong turmeric scent and spicy pallet. But this one did not have that so you could experience layers of flavor that’s on your plate. The bok choy was the right amount of tenderness and well seasoned. I would have preferred to have more of the chilis. Overall, the dish was definitely a must-try.
