Le restaurant The Raymond propose une cuisine de saison inspirée et élaborée à partir d'une sélection d'ingrédients raffinés, alliée à une carte variée de vins provenant des meilleurs producteurs internationaux et de la Côte Ouest, ainsi qu'à des cocktails culinaires fabriqués à la main dans le bar de l'établissement, le 1886. Le restaurant est installé dans la maison de l'ancien concierge du célèbre Raymond Hotel. Went for Christmas Eve dinner and it was a terrible experience. From the start, they were over 30 minutes late in seating us. The service was slow and the food was terrible. One of the mains was a prime rib and when it came out, it was a totally different cut of meat. They didn’t warn us that they were out and tried to pass it off like we wouldn’t notice. The steak they did bring out was dry and overcooked. There was a tuna crudo that tasted exclusively of orange peel. There were also multiple other items that they were out of that they didn’t tell us ahead of bringing out the food. It just seemed like they were hoping we wouldn’t notice all of these issues. It cost about $150 pp and it was not worth the money at all. I would not go back to this restaurant.

We spent our third consecutive Christmas Eve at The Raymond having a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner with carolers dressed in period garb singing Christmas carols throughout the eating areas. Despite how busy the evening was, we felt relaxed, unrushed, and the ambiance the service were great, the food was excellent, and the ambiance exceptional. Love The Raymond for its charm and history. Always cozy and intimate.

The food came out too fast, we felt rushed. We selected a bottle of wine which they were out of we selected a second bottle and again hey were out. Third bottle they had. They ran out of the vegetable side we ordered. The food was just Ok not wonderful as we had hoped and had had in the past. They were out of deserts but had 2 orders of a butter cake left which they gave us. When we went to the bar at 9pm for an after dinner cocktail, we were told after ordering cocktails that the bar had stopped serving at 8:45. Just not the experience we were hoping for or have had on past occasions.

I didn’t have a terrible experience, but it also wasn’t great. What was really disappointing was the food. It lacked flavor. It was very basic and bland. For the price I paid, I expected to be wowed and amazing but it was just okay. Very underwhelming.

Such a nice brunch! We were seated out by the fireplace and it was perfect. Food was great, service was great, ambiance - so festive! Highlight of the season.

The food and the ambience at the Raymond is always amazing. The service was good as well. The only thing that we are incredibly disappointed about was that when we made our reservation on OpenTable, we put in the notes some requests regarding it being our post-wedding dinner; inquiring if there was anything special that could be done or if there was a special seated area we could request. When we arrived, no one acknowledged or even knew that we were there for a special event or that we made some requests. Not even a dessert comped for the bride and groom with $1,000 bill. I would suggest if you have any special request to call the restaurant separately rather than relying on the note section on OpenTable. Also, don’t order the scallops. It was $45 for 3 very small scallops! I needed to order another 2 sides because I was still hungry.

Delish! We ate outside on the patio. Lovely and plenty of area heaters so we were not chilly at all. Come here! Get the garden omelette!
