The Range features four different dining options. Twister Tacos serves street-style tacos, Sunshine Bowl warms l with a variety of ramen bowls, Pioneer Pies features pizza, and Why Not Sandwich Shop offers fresh salads and sandwiches.

We all ordered from Twister Tacos, other guests got the birria (ok), Nashville (spicy as promised) and steak tacos (small). I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos and while the 1st was ok, the 2nd had undercooked shrimp, gray and squishy in the middle. Not what we expected for $18 a plate. Service was slow, cocktails hit and miss.

The Whiskey Barrel experience is a must try when in Steamboat! Food was very good, service was amazing and we had a blast enjoying our own private dinner experience.

Jason was one of the best servers we have ever had! So kind and attentive without being too much. The actual barrel experience was super fun and interesting as well! The view was amazing. It was cozy and comfortable with blankets and pillows. You even get your own speaker to play whatever music you want! I only had 2 slight issues. First, the padding on the chairs was not tied down and they are high top style. So we kept sliding off the front. The only other issue was the smell of the barrel. I believe they are new and it smelled VERY woody and a little stuffy. The smell added in a good way to the whiskey tasting and food but was just a little too strong. Speaking of food, it was delicious! No complaints about flavor. But the first 2 courses were very large and the entree and desert were tiny. One of the appetizers was basically an entire pizza while the entree was a single ravioli and a 2 bite piece of steak. Absolutely delicious but I would have preferred a 3 course meal with a larger steak. The whiskey tasting and pairing is where the true value comes from. They gave us 4 FULL SIZE pours of nice whiskey. Each complimented the course they were served with perfectly. We left with full stomachs and a pretty decent buzz! Overall, we highly recommend this spot for a fun dinner! Absolutely try to get Jason as your server, he’s amazing!

Overall really enjoyed the Range. Good selections on the menu and food was really good. The staff was very helpful. Took off a star for two reasons. 1-They were rolling silverware at the next table over so there was a lot of clanging going on. Since it is a wide open space the acoustics seem to bounce off the walls. 2-It is VERY bright in there. I expected that downstairs because it is more of a "food hall" but expected it to be a little more intimate upstairs.

The barrel dining experience was unique and the four course tasting menu was great. We had excellent service from Jason. A bit loud as there was a deejay playing outdoors nearby, kinda deflated the romantic atmosphere. Expensive at $100 pp for the tasting menu plus a $50 barrel rental fee.

Disappointing that they didn’t have our reservation. We had to wait for them to set up the barrel. Then our Bluetooth speaker wouldn’t work. Thought they could have at least comped our cocktails or barrel reservation fee. Rather expensive for what we had.

The barrel dining experience was extraordinary. Cool setting, great food and drinks, and a super unique experience. Our server Jackie was wonderful. Highly recommended.
