The Radnor Arms is a welcoming, recently-renovated Victorian pub in the Old Bouverie district of Folkestone. There’s a big, vibrant open dining space and plenty of more intimate, cosy corners. A truly modern public house serving contemporary, global influenced British dishes cooked over fire plus a great selection of local and continental beers, wines and spirits.

There was a mix up with our table when we arrived but it was resolved satisfactorily by the manager. The ambience was pleasant enough and buzzy. If you’re looking for an extensive menu then this isn’t the pace for you. A few classics and a whole flatbread menu (it was dinner so we didn’t go for the latter). Oddly, there were reasonably priced burgers alongside steaks priced at nearly £40, so the identity of this restaurant doesn’t really hang together very cohesively, like it doesn’t know what it wants to be. Starters were overpriced and the courgette flower fritters numbered 1 on a plate where I would have expected at least four, so that portion size was very disappointing. The arancini, scotch egg and halloumi toastie were tasty, although the egg yolk would tend to arrive be runny not set in a slightly more elevated restaurant. The food was well presented though and the accompaniments well thought through to match the dishes, which isn’t always the case. We also had a decent glass of red and a Prosecco.

We had the Sunday roast beef and it was delicious. Beef was cooked to perfection and all the accompaniments were very tasty especially the cauliflower cheese. The staff were very friendly and professional and we really enjoyed the ambience and look forward to a return visit soon.

Neil’s food is absolutely fantastic. One of the best roasts I’ve ever had. Great venue.

Superb Sunday Roast. Couldn’t fault it but should have been told optional 10% service was added to the bill as then added a tip on top! Other than that nothing negative to say.

Couldn't fault a thing. Steaks were cooked to perfection, staff attentive and friendly. Highly recommend the Radnor Arms. Excellent evening out!

My favourite pub in Folkestone since moving there recently. Meal was good but no drinks until after starter’s brought to table. I still love the vibe, nice for us DFLs 🤣
