The Radnor Arms is a welcoming, recently-renovated Victorian pub in the Old Bouverie district of Folkestone. There’s a big, vibrant open dining space and plenty of more intimate, cosy corners. Food was alright but wasn’t worth the price. General aesthetic was nice but was cold and had to keep coats on the whole time. Got given the cheque then was forgotten about when had to pay and general service felt rushed and uncaring. Overall not happy with the experience especially regarding its high reviews.

Lovely food and service as always Quite noisy as a party with two young kids right next to us. If you want to eat good food you put up with it!

Came away feeling like we’d had a really lovely experience. Good value, amazing wait staff, really lovely surroundings, delicious food all in all excellent. A couple of our party was gluten free this evening and the waitress was really informative and friendly about it and there was loads of choice! The crispy sriracha potatoes were absolutely amazing!

A return visit to The Radnor Arms; the pub is one of the best iterations of a gastropub in recent years. The bar is crowded with locals who know a good pint when they see it. The cask and keg selection is especially strong in the low and no alcohol range. A pint of Verdant pale ale with a chorizo scotch egg for starters and then Sri Lankan curry are all the more appreciated because they are all first class; fabulous favours and beautifully matched. The folk of Folkestone are most fortunate to have a gem in their midst.

Very nice service and very good food. We felt very welcome with our dog - we will come back when we will be in the area next time.

There was a mix up with our table when we arrived but it was resolved satisfactorily by the manager. The ambience was pleasant enough and buzzy. If you’re looking for an extensive menu then this isn’t the pace for you. A few classics and a whole flatbread menu (it was dinner so we didn’t go for the latter). Oddly, there were reasonably priced burgers alongside steaks priced at nearly £40, so the identity of this restaurant doesn’t really hang together very cohesively, like it doesn’t know what it wants to be. Starters were overpriced and the courgette flower fritters numbered 1 on a plate where I would have expected at least four, so that portion size was very disappointing. The arancini, scotch egg and halloumi toastie were tasty, although the egg yolk would tend to arrive be runny not set in a slightly more elevated restaurant. The food was well presented though and the accompaniments well thought through to match the dishes, which isn’t always the case. We also had a decent glass of red and a Prosecco.

We had the Sunday roast beef and it was delicious. Beef was cooked to perfection and all the accompaniments were very tasty especially the cauliflower cheese. The staff were very friendly and professional and we really enjoyed the ambience and look forward to a return visit soon.
