The Rabbits is a family friendly gastro pub & restaurant in the heart of the essex countryside. We pride ourselves on good friendly service and good quality homecooked food with our seasonal menus, we serve real ales, fine wines & premium spirits. We have a great beer garden where you can take in the picturesque views whilst not having to go too far to order any food or drink as this can all be done at our garden bar which is also playing background music around our garden, this is open Thurs-Sunday throughout the spring/summer weather permitting. There is a childrens play area and we also welcome dogs in our garden and inside the bar area. The Rabbits Team look forward to seeing you soon.

Starters didn't get delivered but the waitress was new also misunderstood a drinks order, that's fine but the other waitresses were so loud whilst sounding mean to her. Roast dinner is normally lovely but didn't far up this time round. I didn't want too much gravy but it was put on the plate instead of in a jug on the side. Chicken wasn't roasted but tasted like it was just air fried and then seared on a hotplate. Veg was nice and roasties too. Cauliflower cheese was also nice but a bit overpriced for such a small portion.

Lovely setting surrounded by fields. Food all homemade and delicious. Good sized car park. Nice area where dogs are allowed. Will definitely recommend to others and will return again soon.

Absolutely amazing! Portions are massive and so delicious! Atmosphere is lovely and staff are incredibly nice and helpful! Everything was perfect 10/10!

We really struggled to find parking initially but once we did we had a great time.

First visit to The Rabbits! Won’t be my last, one of the best roasts I have had, I chose the Pork, it was soft, flavoursome, love the pork cracking, my husband had the Roast Beef which was also as delicious.. staff very friendly, worked non stop while we were there, definitely will be a regular there for sure..

Had a nice meal having been to the restaurant before. So was looking forward to a Sunday roast dinner. The beef was lovely however the use of ‘Aunt Bessie’s’ roast potatoes & Yorkshire puddings was a big disappointment! Lovely desserts too but for the cost of the meal I was expecting home made roasters & Yorkshire puds!

5 for Sunday lunch, first time at The Rabbits as been on my radar for a while now and we were not disappointed. Arrived early but our table was ready and we were all sat promptly. Waiting staff were very polite and informative and took our orders. Food came promptly and both starters and main courses were excellent with plenty on the plates for our mains. Decent selection of beers as spirits including low / non alcoholic beers for those driving or who dont drink. Look forward to coming back again and trying out the beer garden bar and outside area overlooking the surrounding countryside. Would certainly recommend

Friendly welcome for Mother's Day lunch. Open fire to welcome you as you enter. Efficient staff to seat you and a gift for Mum too. Good menu good served promptly tasty and hot. Background music not too obtrusive varied playlist. Would recommend and we will be back
