The Rabbits is a family friendly gastro pub & restaurant in the heart of the essex countryside. We pride ourselves on good friendly service and good quality homecooked food with our seasonal menus, we serve real ales, fine wines & premium spirits. We have a great beer garden where you can take in the picturesque views whilst not having to go too far to order any food or drink as this can all be done at our garden bar which is also playing background music around our garden, this is open Thurs-Sunday throughout the spring/summer weather permitting. There is a childrens play area and we also welcome dogs in our garden and inside the bar area. The Rabbits Team look forward to seeing you soon.

Booked here as on their website apparently they've been voted 4th best roast in Essex, either the standard of roads in Essex isn't very high or this was a very favourable review as whilst it was fine, I wouldn't rush back. We had a roast beef and a nut roast, both portions were on the smaller side, roast potatoes not very crispy, Yorkshire puddings were soft and undercooked, the beef was much more well done than I'd like (not even a hint of pink). We also ordered the apple crumble which whilst it was very good, classic no nonsense style just as I like it, it took 35 mins from us ordering for it to arrive. Nobody asked us if we wanted more drinks in that time even though we clearly had empty glasses. Doubt I'd return here.

My first time here, superb food and an unrushed service from the waitresses made for a very pleased experience, I will be returning.

Fantastic roast dinner took awhile to get us seated but worth the wait one of best roast dinners I’ve had

One of many return visits to this pub whenever we pass through the area. Pleasant reception, good food for lunch and efficient service.

Meat was good but the potatoes weren’t great. Pork crackling wasn’t edible. Service wasn’t great. Waitied 40mins for food and the pub was half full.

Food was awful, fish and chips over cooked, roast dinner swimming in gravy with over cooked veg, a cheap burger meat that was tasteless. Conservatory windows covered in black mould that had a smell of a disinfectant that was trying to cover the smell of dampness. One positive thing I can say is the bar lady that brought our drinks and food was a pleasant young lady

Beautiful country pub with conservatory and garden. Great variety on menu and polite, friendly staff. Big portions! Will be returning.
