The Pyewipe is a family run business opened in 1998 by Robert and Sara Pickles. Situated only a 30 minute walk away from Lincoln city centre, a leisurely stroll along Britain’s oldest man made waterway which is has surely become a hidden gem in Lincolnshire.

Popular as a ramblers’ favourite watering hole, narrowboat mooring point or restaurant for the discerning diner, The Pyewipe is all things to all folk. The perfect setting for a casual lunch with the family and friends or an outside drink! The addition of the Lodge in 2001 and the Big Hat Tipis in 2016 allows us to be an idyllic location for weddings, corporate events or business conferences. Please feel free to peruse our website, however only a visit can truly bring our legendary location, cuisine and hospitality to life.

                                  Food was stunning, service was impeccable, place was very clean and had a great vibe and the setting was lovely. Only negative was that the desserts were overpriced, in my opinion.

                                  Amazing food! Servers were very attentive and we were never left without drinks or empty plates. Variety of food was great, and the specials board is huge! Would definitely come back again when in the area!

                                  Excellent service. Our two main meals were the lamb with peas and the duck with roast vegetables, both wth dauphinoise potatoes. These meals were pretty average. The bread basket starter was not worth bothering with. Desserts were good - chocolate sundae topped with fresh cream and Eton mess. All portions were of a good size and food was well presented. The location is a 30-40 minute walk along the canal path from Lincoln city centre and well worth it in nice weather.

                                  Our first time here. Beautiful location by the canal & the food was excellent. Our only complaint was that the person who brought our food split gravy on my friend’s trousers & didn’t apologise , maybe she felt too embarrassed to do so! But we would return if we were in the area again.

                                  Our waitress was lovely and was serving on her own in our part of restuarant, when our meal was finished we both had trips to the bathroom and we hadn't been approached for a desert or plates cleared.We decided to go to the bar to pay our waitress was pouring drinks then had to serve them, she apologised but she couldn't see to us at the same time.We looked and there was 2 people sat in the main greeting desk so we approached them who were in deep conversation, l asked to pay and she directed me back to the bar and carried on with their conversation.l thought this was very poor.l didn't enjoy my meal but that was my choice it wasn't what l thought, however we both felt the meals were quite expensive.Altho it is a beautiful setting we wouldn't choose to go there again.
