The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes.

We offer nose-to-tail style menu, with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily, as the season's best comes in, and always features day boat fish, meat, offal, rare breed steaks and excellent vegetarian cookery.

Our beautiful garden bar has a lawn and york-stone patio looking out across the farmland of Paglesham and the River Crouch. Throughout the summer we offer BBQ dining from our hand-cranked Asado and Rotisserie Grills.

Lovely meal, great service - a little quiet so not much ambiance- that said was lovely to have a chat and nice food with friends

Excellent customer service and the food was beautifully cooked and served. It is little on the pricey side but then you pay for quality. A very enjoyable first visit to The Punchbowl and we will be returning. Seemed very popular judging by the car park being vfull and parking along the road when we left.

Wonderful evening celebrating our wedding anniversary. Delicious menu from locally sourced food (menu always changes) served by super friendly and personable staff in a pub that has so much character and personality! To top it off- great beers on tap from local breweries!! Loved it and would highly recommend

Wow! The new fresh look is amazing only overshadowed by the incredibly friendly and attentive service from the staff. The menu will leave you spoilt for choice and deliberating over what to have, to which you will not be disappointed.

Service was amazing, food was very good, starter and pudding could not fault. Sunday dinner was great but the roast potatoes were very hard - nearly shot off my plate :) however, would not stop us from returning. Lovely ambiance and made to feel very welcome. Would defo like to return and highly recommend it. We are going to revisit mid week to try out the main menu.

Top class food and excellent service at the beautifully restored Punch Bowl, Paglesham. Sally & Rob are great hosts and the pub is well worth a visit. More vegetarian or fish options would be nice but those we had were great. The EV charger still needs attention.

First visit to the recently reopened Punch Bowl. Garden area was lovely, with an outdoor kitchen/bar area for BBQ days. Best to check first which days the BBQ and other menus are available. There is a set menu available Mon- Thurs, but Fridays appears to be just a la carte. We started with a drink outside and then moved inside to our reserved table for lunch. The food from the a la carte menu was excellent as was the service. The menu is uploaded on the website daily, so you can see in advance what is available. Couldn't fault it, will certainly return.

Had a really wonderful evening o the wine tasting event. Really enjoyable, the wine host was extremely knowledgeable, learnt lots, sampling 8 wines. The food was exceptional and delicious, meet some really nice people too. Looking forward to the next wine tasting event.
