The Punchbowl is a 17th century gastro pub, located in the heart of rural Essex and the Crouch Valley and the South Essex Salt marshes.

We offer nose-to-tail style menu, with unpretentious dishes that focus on flavour. Everything is made in house - from bread to mayonnaise, and we use local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Our menu changes daily, as the season's best comes in, and always features day boat fish, meat, offal, rare breed steaks and excellent vegetarian cookery.

Our beautiful garden bar has a lawn and york-stone patio looking out across the farmland of Paglesham and the River Crouch. Throughout the summer we offer BBQ dining from our hand-cranked Asado and Rotisserie Grills.

Sunday lunch was served beautifully. Appetizing plate of roast beef with all the trimmings. Tastefully decorated old fashioned pub, brought up to date with cosy furnishings. Warm welcome from all staff members. Polite and professional service. We shall certainly be returning.

We arrived for a midweek lunch for 2. We received a prompt and verh warm welcome. We were very well looked after. The food was superb and left looking for an excuse to come back as soon as possible

We came to the punch bowl for Sunday lunch and we was not disappointed! When we walked in all the staff were smiling and friendly. The fell of the pub was traditional and welcoming. We were sat in the restaurant area which has a lovely ambiance. The food was excellent and everything we had was very tasty, we will definitely be coming back again sometime soon.

Lovely meal, great service - a little quiet so not much ambiance- that said was lovely to have a chat and nice food with friends

Excellent customer service and the food was beautifully cooked and served. It is little on the pricey side but then you pay for quality. A very enjoyable first visit to The Punchbowl and we will be returning. Seemed very popular judging by the car park being vfull and parking along the road when we left.

Wonderful evening celebrating our wedding anniversary. Delicious menu from locally sourced food (menu always changes) served by super friendly and personable staff in a pub that has so much character and personality! To top it off- great beers on tap from local breweries!! Loved it and would highly recommend

Wow! The new fresh look is amazing only overshadowed by the incredibly friendly and attentive service from the staff. The menu will leave you spoilt for choice and deliberating over what to have, to which you will not be disappointed.
