Le The Pump House est un restaurant en bord de rivière installé sur plusieurs étages avec un bar sur le toit, où vous profiterez d'une vue panoramique sur la belle rivière Catawba. Situé sur le nouveau Riverwalk, le The Pump House est un restaurant caractéristique haut de gamme qui bénéficie d'une atmosphère élégante mais décontractée. C'est une ancienne station de pompage qui était utilisée par une usine d'acétate. Nous avons redéfini le bâtiment pour créer un restaurant unique proposant une cuisine gastronomique inspirée du sud, une sélection unique des vins et des cocktails artisanaux. Great food, impeccable service and a spectacular view of the Catawba River. Not an inexpensive restaurant, but worth it. Will go again.

Food was horrible. They didn’t make the food as ordered. The bacon app was like leather and the fried green tomatoes had no flavor. The vegetable lasagna looked like it was soup with store bought pasta and sliced zucchini. Chairs were dirty. Drinks were weak and not as described. Something must have change since I’ve been there. I’ll never ever ever go back. Food is better elsewhere. At least we could watch the river. That was nice.

Our server Lillian and the bar tender at the 5 th floor bar were fantastic… Bourbon list was way above average, lots of very fine whiskies! The food was a disaster compared to a year ago… I love the Pump House, but last night was a huge disappointment!!

Excellent service from Jenn, knowledgeable about menu and drinks. Good deal on meal, one steak out of 6 overcooked but others perfect.

We really enjoyed our meal. Two out of the three in our party did the three course meal for one price. Found it to be a really good meal for the money. Everyone left full and happy. The waiter did a good job and the staff, in general, was very engaged. I would recommend reservations if you go on a Saturday. It was not packed because we had an early meal (5:30pm), but there were not many empty tables at all when we left. Cool joint with a good atmosphere and an incredible view over the Catawba river.

The Pump House is not living up to its past reputation. The environment is modern and elegant. The staff is friendly, yet sparse in their knowledge of the menu. Our server also struggled with knowing when to check if it was appropriate to clear the table or ask if we needed anything. Timing is everything in a restaurant. We had drinks and appetizers before ordering entrees, so there shouldn’t have been any confusion about when to bring the main course, or bringing it too early. When the entrees arrived, two dishes were lukewarm, with the third dish hot as expected. Not only was the meat not hot, but the mashed potatoes appeared crusty as if they had sat for all too long. When the server later asked how our meals were, I mentioned two dishes were not hot. While acknowledging it was good to know and if they could heat it (I didn’t want a microwave dinner and what would it mean for the person with the hot meal), she said she’d let management know. Later, the response was if we didn’t need to get the management involved, they would offer free desserts. That seemed to be an abdication of management taking responsibility to understand the clients.
