After years of planning and work to restore the historical building that inspired the brewery, The Publican House restaurant and tap house is opening its doors to you! The 170-year old building has been reborn using original elements wherever possible, with a modern twist to create a unique and inviting space.

With a focus on local, we have incorporated a new spin to pub food featuring a wood fired pizza oven, high quality fresh ingredients and recommended beer pairing options with daily specials.

The bar features all of our Publican House beers, crafted on-site, along with new specialty brews developed monthly and available exclusively at The Publican House. Rounding out the menu will be locally produced craft beer, speciality cocktails and wine from around the world.

    We love the publican. Staff are great and super friendly. We often get the special but can’t beat the Marge pizza with extra basil Best patio in Peterborough

    Was having my girlfriend for the weekend. I wanted to take her to the publican house. We booked the patio but it was too windy, so we were quickly accommodated inside. Our waitress was very friendly, courtous, non-invasive. Nice girl. We were allowed to talk with very few interruptions. I didn't feel rushed. The food was excellent. Bring back the shrimp tacos, I had bragged about these and told my friend they were the greatest and they were gone from the menu.

    Met up with some girlfriends for dinner. I had the Fattoush Salad and Cuban Egg Rolls for an appetizer, both were so good! Service was great! I will come back here :-)

    Our meals (chicken club and chicken shawarma) were good albeit a little messy😁however they were delicious and we would definitely order again. The service was excellent!! A fun lunchtime spot!!

    Was sitting in the shade. There was an open table in the sun and asked the server if we can switch.The waitress said she had to ask the hostess and came back and told us it was being used in 20 mins. Other customers nearby were sitting in the shade and asked if they can move to that table and the waitress allowed them. The place was not that busy tons of tables not sure why they did not allow us but allowed other customer to sit there.After confronting waitress she did not acknowledge us for second drinks only gave us the bill!

    Thank you for the feedback, these type of reviews are always helpful! I apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations. When it comes to our patio during busy times, reservations are strategically placed in certain places so that they line up with the second or third seating to ensure that everyone has adequate amount of time for their dine in experience. Things also shift quite frequently with tables, meaning if a table was supposed to be there in 20 minutes we may have sat them at a different table if it made more sense for spacing and timing. We will always move a table somewhere where feel more comfortable, but with the patio specifically we are sometimes more restricted due to the high volume. I will be sure to address this with the staff, hope to see you again!

    Always an enjoyable visit. Weather wasn't good enough for a patio experience - we'll try next time! Overall a good lunch spot!

    Religiously order the pizza and it never disappoints. Service has always been on point, friendly, efficient and personable. Prefer the previous "Crispy Hummus" to the current version on the menu. When sitting beside the kitchen section, it was a tad loud today hearing the cooks yell the plated meals ready for pick-up.
