The Powis Arms is a traditional Georgian coaching inn devoted to serving delicious, local food from menus that morph and change according to the seasons, paired with a straightforward wine list, spirits and regional beer selection.

The Powis Arms has been at the heart of this historic village for over 200 years. Today the building welcomes its locals and visitors with open arms, offering a place to sit down, relax, and enjoy some of the best food and drink in the county, surrounded by friends, family and neighbours…your dogs are welcome too! On a summers afternoon be sure to visit our semi-covered deck overlooking the open countryside to the rear of the pub, which perfectly captures the afternoon sun.

Short menu but varied, generous portions, well presented & friendly service. Good selection of beers. Well worth a visit.

After a wonderful walk locally we sat outside on the deck (having booked The Snug because we had dogs with us). In the sunshine we enjoyed a delicious lunch with great friends. Each plate looked fab and none of it was overfacing. Highly recommend the soup, the Pork chop and the burger.

Very happy to be back at the Powis Arms for a delicious Sunday Roast. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Excited to be trying the new menu with chef Alex recently taking on the kitchen. We were delighted with his efforts, especially as it was his first weekend! Great starters: ham hock ballotine was fresh and tasty; whitebait cooked to perfection. Sirloin of beef with all the trimmings was perfect, plentiful yet not overwhelming. Treacle tart was on a par with my mum’s and I didn’t think that was possible! Definitely homemade. All in all a real treat. We will be back.

Really friendly staff and the food was excellent. Homemade soup and puddings to die for. Dog friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Would totally recommend going here as we will definitely be visiting again

Food was good value and setting nice but several very noisy dogs and swearing in the bar rather spoiled our first visit.

Went here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The steak was beautiful. The burger was tender and tasty. Unfortunately there weren’t many specials available and there was only the choice of one red wine. No ambience.
