    We were a table of 2 booked for 21:00. Received a text at 20:00 saying the table would be available at 20:15 if we’d like to be seated earlier. Nice touch, and we did. Service was informal yet professional. A bowl of water was brought over for our two x four legged friends. Another nice touch. Food was delicious. Me the twice baked soufflé, lemon sole to follow. Senior management chose scallops followed by the sea bream on risotto.. All excellent. Dessert followed. Bill was about right, not cheap but certainly not spiteful. This was our first visit. We’ll be back again.

    Lovely food - delicious fish. We had the special of the sole which was large and delicious and beautifully cooked.

    Great food with an emphasis on local fish and produce. Friendly professional service. Good choice of wines. Makes for a very enjoyable night out :-)

    Food is always exceptional here. I had the half lobster Thermidor with salad and potatoes. It was delicious. My husband had brill which he said was very tasty and flaked easily off the bone. The staff here are always so friendly and attentive. Would recommend to any lover of seafood. First class

    The food was magnificent. Staff are friendly, attentive, efficient. 5 distinctly picky eaters not a single complaint between us all thoroughly satisfied. Ambience really welcoming. If I could fault it the wine list is not to the standard of everything else and leaves something to be desired

    Booked The Potted Lobster for an impromptu dinner with my lovely wife just before going to Bamburgh on vacation. Didn't expect to be able to get in at short notice, but they found a way, and then managed to bring my booking forward to an earlier time on the night, which was greatly appreciated. The ambience is practical rather than luxurious, but that felt exactly right, and is probably a blessing with the amount of seafood being served. The menu catered to different tastes, the specials were exactly that, the food was superb, and the service exceptional - polite, attentive and non-intrusive. Strongly recommended

    We were so delighted with the whole evening , the staff were so helpful , in adding last minute extra guests and throughout the evening . The food was extraordinarily good and every mouthful of the sea food platter was delicious , we had a really great evening . Thank you ! We will be back next year !!
