Join us at the Potted Lobster for our Game Tasting Evening. The 6 course tasting menu will be focusing on seasonal game, sourced from neighbouring estates and farms, using traditional and modern cooking techniques to give you a delicious dining experience. For further indulgence why not upgrade to our wine pairing package and enjoy perfectly paired wine with decadent smells, tastes, and flavours to match to each course. Our Game tasting evening is running on Thursday 21st November 7pm onwards, and on Thursday 6th February.

Another great day out in Bamburgh finished off with a perfect dinner at the Potted Lobster. We were sat at the dog friendly table we requested when making our reservation so we could totally relax with our nervous dog. The staff have always accommodated our request. We were booked in early Sunday evening and it was a lovely and relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent. My father in law said it was the best fish and chips he had ever eaten in his life and he’s 82!! I had the cod with chorizo jam. This was the second time I have had this and I enjoyed it more this time as I actually tasted chunks of chorizo which was so delicious. The sticky toffee pudding dessert is a must! The restaurant became full as we were leaving. Our server was so nice and friendly - actually nicer than the last server we had on our last visit so overall a wonderful evening and we will definitely be back next time we visit beautiful Bamburgh.

Really excellent food. The Sirloin was superb! As was the cod. Superb service and overall a very nice experience. Thanks Again!

2nd time eating at the Potted Lobster and this was equally as good as the last time. My food (hake and lemon & herb risotto) was delicious, lovely flavours and perfectly cooked! My husband also very much enjoyed his meat 🙄 dish (braised lamb) and we shared the veg. We also shared dessert (passion fruit Eton mess) - wow. Have to add that I would've struggled to eat that by myself. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and, judging by how busy it was on a Thursday evening in the middle of November, it's no secret how good the food is here.

A delicious treat night for my husband’s birthday. The scallop with black pudding and quince jelly was one of the nicest meals I’ve ever had, and that was just my starter. The cheese soufflé was delicious. The haddock and chips was nice but couldn’t taste the flavourings in the batter. The pea purée was a little thin - decent mushy peas would have worked better. I enjoyed my lobster with Thermidor sauce although I’m an inexperienced lobster eater and got into quite a mess! We both had the crème brûlée for dessert and it was light and deliciously creamy - perfect. We left our dogs at home but it was great to experience a truly dog friendly restaurant - so many patrons booking dog-friendly tables. A lovely environment, very friendly service, thank you.

Outstanding fish dishes, good selection for people with special dietary requirements, nice atmosphere. It's not cheap but it is good!

Warm welcome and seated immediately . Great menu with many specials. All agreed that food was superb. Inobtrusive service and minor issue with seating resolved promptly and without fuss . Excellent experience and will return
