Join us at the Potted Lobster for our Game Tasting Evening. The 6 course tasting menu will be focusing on seasonal game, sourced from neighbouring estates and farms, using traditional and modern cooking techniques to give you a delicious dining experience. For further indulgence why not upgrade to our wine pairing package and enjoy perfectly paired wine with decadent smells, tastes, and flavours to match to each course. Our Game tasting evening is running on Thursday 21st November 7pm onwards, and on Thursday 6th February.

We were a group of 5 adults and 2 children, we booked for 1730. We were accommodated with very little fuss, high chair and children's plate/cutlery provided. We ordered for our 2 year old prior to placing our order and this arrived promptly in order to keep him happy!! Staff were great really good service very attentive and really made us feel welcome. Food quality was excellent and portion sizes were decent. Would recommend if in the area but definitely book to avoid disappointment.

Really great fish restaurant in a beautiful area. Love the ever changing Specials menu for both Starter and Mains which are in addition to the standard menu. We live in Durham so the 80 minute drive is one that we would only do for special occasions but it was very much worth it. Good service and whilst the frontage of the restaurant is not particularly appealing in such a beautiful village don’t be put off by that. It is well worth a visit.

We booked our meal as part of a weekend away in Bamburgh for 8 people and had been looking forward to it for months. We were not disappointed. Lovely ambiance, excellent, attentive service and the food was amazing! Starters and mains were perfect. Each of us were thoroughly happy with our choices and accompanying wine. This place lived up to its reputation. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bamburgh. We left 8 very happy, customers looking forward to a return visit next year.

It’s a lovely restaurant with pleasant staff. Our first course, the chowder, was excellent save for the bread (no butter offered) which was very stale. My main course, crab salad, was excellent but my wife’s goujons were well overcooked/burnt and the fish therefore was dry. We had to wait 40 minutes between courses. Overall, disappointing for £77 with two non alcoholic drink.

Fantastic food and service. Would definitely recommend the smoked haddock chowder to start.

The Potted Lobster did not disappoint Tasty well presented food served with a smile. Excellent choice of dishes especially the choices on The Specials board. Nice ambience too. Would highly recommend.

The potted lobster has been on our list to dine at for a while and it definitely did not disappoint. Absolutely gorgeous food, the food was all amazing. The scallops were outstanding along with the half lobster delicious. We will definitely book again. Just remember if you want to dine here it’s best to book.
