A rural public house serving local beers, Berkshire gin and ciders, as well as a great wine selection. Bar snacks and full meals available 7 days a week. Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer.

Whilst a subtle Basque feel will permeate throughout, its roots are firmly founded on those of a classic English pub – so while featuring top end Basque dishes fit for a destination dinner, it also offers simple pub snacks for a light lunch… while the food may be inspired by the Basque country, the ingredients are local… and while the wines may be sourced from Iberia, the beer is very much English.

The crowning glory is the sensational open kitchen, with a huge, CHARCOAL FIRED parilla grill and a BRICK OVEN as its centrepiece and all in front of the guests – very visual and very theatrical.

The Pot Kiln has been a really exciting project, and we’re thrilled to be finally open.

    Idyllic location, excellent food and customer service with stunning views and cutest vegetable garden. Tye ingredients were exceptional. The place is well managed and the staff work together like bees! Definitely coming again.

    Beautiful location in the heart of the countryside. Friendly and attentive staff. The Catalan fish stew was delicious brought piping hot to the table. Good atmosphere.

    We had a wonderful meal to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The sirloin was cooked to perfection and the starters and sides were delicious. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back.

    Our visit to the pot kiln was brilliant. The service, the food and the setting are absolutely stunning. It’s so nice to have a Spanish twist restaurant locally. I can’t rave about it enough!! Also dog friendly

    Venue is lovely and staff welcoming and attentive. Menu was difficult to navigate (not clear what were starters vs mains vs sides) and food was in places disappointing (pork chop which was mostly fat, bone and not much meat). Prices were top rate, on top of which were expensive side dishes. At this level we expected more.

    I really enjoyed my evening meal at The Pot Kiln this week, the food quality and service were both excellent. I had Tomato toast, Friggitelli Peppers and the Grilled Hake, the Hake was especially good. A friendly and welcoming place in a great setting.

    This is the third time the management has changed at the Pot Kiln and it is definitely the best. The restaurant is in a lovely spot with glorious views. It is now run by the folks at the Royal Oak in Yattendon so we had high hopes. We were not disappointed. Now a restaurant with a strong Spanish vibe the food is excellent, the service as ever, first class. They now have an open kitchen which is interesting to watch. They have some bedrooms so one option, if you want to sample the wines is to stay rather than getting a cab which could cost as much, and you don't get breakfast. It derives to go really well. Recommendations. Hake, charred leeks, gambas, salt cod croquettes and Albarino. The cava is good as well
