A rural public house serving local beers, Berkshire gin and ciders, as well as a great wine selection. Bar snacks and full meals available 7 days a week. Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer.

Whilst a subtle Basque feel will permeate throughout, its roots are firmly founded on those of a classic English pub – so while featuring top end Basque dishes fit for a destination dinner, it also offers simple pub snacks for a light lunch… while the food may be inspired by the Basque country, the ingredients are local… and while the wines may be sourced from Iberia, the beer is very much English.

The crowning glory is the sensational open kitchen, with a huge, CHARCOAL FIRED parilla grill and a BRICK OVEN as its centrepiece and all in front of the guests – very visual and very theatrical.

The Pot Kiln has been a really exciting project, and we’re thrilled to be finally open.

Fantastic rural location with a relaxed high quality vibe, polite experienced staff, delicious contemporary food. Really great place for a special treat.

Unbelievably great food! Set in a bucolic country location with stunning views, this place is amazing. The staff are all super friendly and attentive. The food….basque with a wide variety of small plates as well as outstanding hearty dishes to share. Our 12-hour cooked lamb was so tender and moist. Cannot recommend this gem enough

The menu included tapas style dishes and also sharing dishes like a shoulder of lamb for 2 which was a lot of meat.

having used the pot kiln almost since it opened first, we found the new upgrades very good to both the layout and ambiance. Whilst we missed the game menu, it was good to see an excellent choice of sharing dishes. Overall very impressed and have booked again.

Fabulous mid-week dinner. Lovely place, great ambience and the best steak I’ve had in ages!! Will definitely be returning.

Whilst the food was fantastic (as was the menu), the whole experience was let down by the service which was incredibly slow. We had to ask for menus and ask to order drinks. The mains then took an incredibly long time to come out after starters including our kids meal we ordered. Unfortunately, this did let the meal down and we wouldn't rush back until things change as we have young children.

We struggled to understand the menu, when we did order we definitely did not have enough food for 3 people but the server said that it would be fine. The meat that we did have was undercooked compared to how we ordered it and had hardly any meat and lots of fat, which given how expensive was not good. We also did not enjoy being sat right next to the kitchen, when we got home we realised that our clothes smelt like smoke from the grill. It feels really strange to be sat, what felt like, in the kitchen. And when we did ask if we could move there was no attempt at moving or understanding as to why we wanted to move
