A rural public house serving local beers, Berkshire gin and ciders, as well as a great wine selection. Bar snacks and full meals available 7 days a week. Cooking over a central grill makes for great theatrical cooking from our open-plan kitchen, overseen by Head Chef Nick Galer.

Whilst a subtle Basque feel will permeate throughout, its roots are firmly founded on those of a classic English pub – so while featuring top end Basque dishes fit for a destination dinner, it also offers simple pub snacks for a light lunch… while the food may be inspired by the Basque country, the ingredients are local… and while the wines may be sourced from Iberia, the beer is very much English.

The crowning glory is the sensational open kitchen, with a huge, CHARCOAL FIRED parilla grill and a BRICK OVEN as its centrepiece and all in front of the guests – very visual and very theatrical.

The Pot Kiln has been a really exciting project, and we’re thrilled to be finally open.

My friend had to send her fish back which wasn’t cooked and cold in the middle but apparently from that a good experience. The brought a fresh piece and didn’t charge for the fish which was very professional of them. Great ambiance and lovely staff

Absolutely delicious food, lovely service and a beautiful setting. Will definitely go back as there are many more things on the menu we’d like to try! Would highly recommend!

Nine of us had an excellent meal at The Potkiln . Service was very good and helpful . Love the open kitchen. Definitely recommend the rib of beef, 12 hour lamb and Roe deer pave. Will be returning and recommending.

Beautiful location with fantastic views on a summer evening. Staff were friendly and helpful and accommodating menu for our children too.

Wow what an amazing place. The whole setting was very special. The chef and his team cooked an outstanding Spanish meal. All the staff were great. We will be returning very soon.

Some of the best food we've had for a long time. Excellent attentive service. We went after the Pot Kiln had been open for a week following an extensive refurbishment of the pub and rooms. I would expect there to be a few teething issues and reflected that in my rating. I'm pleased to say that all the key components, quality and tastiness of food, service and general ambience were all there. I'm sure over time they will address the following: (1) noise: some type of sound deadening for the restaurant needs to be looked at. (2) knives: nice weightly cuttlery but the knife failed in its basic function, to cut. (3) the pass: kitchen needs to be screened off from the floor to standard work service height: 90cm (4) oven: if you're going to have a kitchen open to diners then more effort needs to be made to the esthetics. I don't want to look at an oven's insulation covered with a plastic sheet. Wishing Rob and all the team every succeess ps great place visit if you just want a drink

Recently reopened after a change of management and extensive refurb/extension. All still a bit new and needs a few finishing touches but overall very good. It’s lost a little of the old Pot Kiln rustic charm but has some new magic, and the lovely countryside setting is unchanged. The Basque themed food produced from an open kitchen adds an extra dimension to a good, but not cheap, night out. Would definitely revisit to try some other gastro delights coming from the busy kitchen.
