Best view in this neck of the woods, once you can enjoy the patio dining. Soft opening was a good idea for this restaurant as it gave all a chance to experience how a good eatery wants to excel. Still in the throws of decor the place was a beehive of energy and the social ambience local and folksy. The noise level made conversing a challenge. Drinks served quickly and food followed, for some, the main was served at the same time as the starter.Timing is a challenge for a new staff. We were asked several times about our satisfaction and I think it was a genuine effort to use the info to improve. The portions are huge. For a tavern fare there is a wide selection to satisfy any appetite or taste. I hope the feedback is used to make a few changes to the menu, keeping some things more simply served, not spiced up ( pickerel), and portions smaller, ( chicken) and plates appearance appealing. Looking forward to some relaxed dining this summer enjoying the spectacular view and positive vibe of the ‘Port’.

Ambiance was beautiful. Back patio overlooking the bay is unreal. Food and service was top notch! I definitely recommend The Port Tavern.

We loved the atmosphere of The Port Tavern. Refreshing new food offerings at an elevated level. From the moment you walk in being greeted by a wonderful hostess to the table side check in from Allie the General Manager, you truly felt appreciated. Loved the French Onion soup and Steak Tenderloin. Oysters served perfectly cold and refreshing. Nice drink and wine offerings as well. What a welcome new addition to The Blue Mountains.

Wow - What a great new Tavern in Thornbury! The PORT is exactly what we have been waiting for...a local hang out with great food, great atmosphere and amazing location. This patio is a MUST see in Thornbury and a place to enjoy in the summer. But it doesn't stop there - Ali is an amazing host, and Mark McEwen has picked an amazing location. Chef has a dialed in menu that include a smash burger all the way to Cote De Beuf. This will be our new go to sport for entertaining friends and family for years to come. Thanks Mark and Ali for welcoming our family...
