The Pony Room is a favorite among locals and resort guests alike.     We waited 45 minutes for the table. I reserved a week and a half ago. Only to be seated at the table we didn’t want. It took forever to get service. The food was lukewarm. I typically love this place but unfortunately things have gone downhill!

    We celebrated our 30th yr wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed eating outside near the fountain. Scott, our main waiter was very nice and brought us a glass of cava to celebrate. We loved the kale and goat cheese salad, the ceviche, hamachi and best of all were the swordfish skewers with the 3 dipping sauces. All delicious and we also received a complimentary chocolate mousse which was delicious! I have been coming to Ranch Valencia since 1988 and it never disappoints!

    Halibut and side was overcooked, too noisy in Bar to seat diners, asked for outside table - told no, yet outside tables of same size sat empty the entire time. Service was good.

    We love The Pony Room all year, but especially now in the warmer months. Even the drive to approach the resort is magical. The restaurant/patio is relaxed, gorgeous, rich in hacienda-style ambiance, such beautiful evening light. The service is incredible (thank you, Scott and team!) and the food never disappoints. Our continued favorites include the crudo, the burger, the bolognese, any salad, and the lobster tacos (great for breakfast the next day!) and of course the Saturday night prime rib dinner. The Pony Room is a great escape from the ordinary, perfect for special occasions or any date night. Worth the money.

    For the first time it was not that good. I had a reservation for the Pony Room, instead I was placed out in the outdoor area when you first come in. Technically still part of the pony Room. In a very small table for two with the sun glaring in my eyes the entire time. No umbrellas. The service staff was their usual great selves. But my ceviche was dry and unappealing. Unlike all the other times, this dinner was a disappointment.

    Went for dinner 3 nights prior. Excellent experience then, and decided to return knowing what to expect. Not disappointed. Pricy … but well worth it.

    It was all about the service. Not actually server’s fault, maybe under staffed? Waited an hour for food. With kid meals arriving 10 minutes later. (Feed kids first!). All special requests forgotten ie bacon in omelette, goat cheese put on the side of frittata, refilling water forgotten. Disappointing as the Pony Room should and could be amazing.
