The Plough is a cosy country pub, just outside Rye, with a beer garden offering picturesque views of the Brede valley. Our food offer is pub classics made incredibly as well as creative cooking, whilst being ingredient led. We primarily use British produce and work with local suppliers to ensure we always source the very best ingredients we can get our hands on. Inside we have a warm atmosphere with log fires and friendly service.

The Plough Udimore is a great place to eat. We had Winchelsea pigeon followed by Sutton Hoo chicken and ham pie in pea soup... it was truly delicious. We cant recommend the place highly enough.

A very good menu with ample choice of nibbles. starters and mains. Excellent range of wines by the glass - after a welcoming pint of Long Blonde. Following the chalk stream trout pastrami I had the Sutton Hoo Chicken and Ham Hock Pie, both of which were outstanding. My partner nibbled on the salami ( and loved the gooseberry chutney), with a main course of mackerel. Our third visit and again we commented of the wonderful flavour combinations of the salad and vegetable dishes. Thoughtful menu design, and always excellent delivery. Service again was most friendly and efficient. The whole dining experience was a pleasure - relaxing, reliable….and ready to come back again soon!

Fourth time here and never disappoints! Food is so fresh and always something new/imaginative to try... Weather was not too kind to us on this occasion but there is a lovely garden area with beautiful views when the sun is out. Friendly staff, who take time to have a little chat...

We had a lovely evening at the Plough. The food was delicious, and we were brilliantly looked after by our server. My 20 month granddaughter was brought her meal within 5 minutes of sitting down Highly recommended.

Excellent friendly service and delicious food. A varied menu with locally sourced ingredients. We chose to eat inside but there are wonderful views from the outside terrace.

Very nice meal and in a relaxed atmosphere. Great selection of options. Pork Croquettes and almond butter cake. Very friendly staff.

The Plough is one of our favourite local eateries and our recent Sunday lunch was excellent - delicious food, friendly & efficient service and a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Our first visit to The Plough! Beautiful food and very pleasant service! We were all very inpressed! Delighted completely, what a lovely find! Maybe we shall become regulars………….. we are hoping to complete on a house purchase close by…….. fingers crossed
