Set in the picturesque village of West Hanney,This beautiful thatched pub offers great british pub classics, and small plates, with a vibrant pub atmosphere. This community owned business has new tenants who have been lucky to win a fair few awards in their time.
The Plough is the ultimate country pub and offers an incredible atmosphere and dining experience. Housed in a stunningly thatched public house, customers can choose to eat in the beautiful eatery, in the cosy bar by the fire or in the beautiful sun trapped garden.
With a passion for supporting farmers, the kitchen sources food from the very best local farms, knowing where each item comes from, from farm to plate. Owain even uses the produce from his family farm in Wales! Cooking is modern British and menus change daily depending on what is fresh and seasonal - Luke is particularly passionate about his small plates menu, ensuring that th plough is something for everyone.

We were welcomed upon arrival and seated immediately, a jug of water was bought over without us having to ask - which is a lovely touch. The service was fantastic, I have Coeliac disease and our server was very knowledgeable and helped to ensure that my meal was safe to eat. He checked all of my choices back with the kitchen and advised of any potential issues. The food was excellent, we were neither kept waiting or rushed and it all added up to a very enjoyable evening. I would certainly recommend.

Food was fabulous, however when ordering the double cheeseburger it does not come with the customary side salad or tomato or lettuce on the burger. We had cheese and biscuits too and it came with a fantastic array of cheese but perhaps more crackers could be given. Nevertheless the biscuits were of an amazingly quality and were not overpriced either. Staff were very friendly and helpful. When visiting the area again we will definitely visit again.

Just move moved to the area and couldn’t be happier with our new local pub. Such a lovely atmosphere and food was delicious.

Great new menu - summery influences combined with 'old favourites'. Great selection of 'small plates' and starters. Service was excellent - friendly but not intrusive and well-paced.
