The Pig and Butcher opened its doors in 2012 and has become a bit of an Islington institution. A laid back country style pub with a stunning private dining room and honest cooking showcasing the best farms in the UK.

In the bar we serve craft beers, wine from family-owned vineyards only, aperitif cocktails and a selection of local hand pulled ales.

We have recently completed our beautiful private dining room. With a wood burning stove and Aga oven, it’s our own farmhouse kitchen in the heart of Islington. There is no charge for the room however there is a minimum spend. It is available for either lunch or dinner and will seat 16-24 guests comfortably. For availability and minimum spend details drop us an email at crackling@thepigandbutcher.co.uk. We offer our feasting menu – all dishes are served on vintage platters ‘farmhouse style’ for the table to share. It is quite meaty, but don’t despair, Vegetarian and Pescatarian guests will be catered for by the daily changing a la carte menu.

Excellent food - steak was amongst the best I've had. Was very noisy when we arrived but we were quickly moved to a different table. Service wasn't the quickest - our meal took two hours. But overall it was great and would certainly go back.

Excellent food and service , nice atmosphere. The crab with gazpacho was very good and the roaste halibut outstanding. The service was extremely good.

First time visiting Pig & Butcher as came up as highly recommended on Opentable based on previous bookings. Great food and service. Let down by chaotic kitchen and senior staff. Arguments at open kitchen in full view of diners rather surprising and unsettling. Won’t be returning.

Food : The food was more expensive than we expected and the portions were small. The food was very nicely cooked. Drink: The beer my husband ordered was cloudy and had to be replaced. I requested a pint of dry cider and received a small bottle of very expensive cider without any explanation that the Pig and Butcher did not have draught cider.

Well prepared, cooked and presented dishes. Tastes were superb on every dish. Best meal we have had in ages. Thank you.

We booked for the Sunday Roast and it did not disappoint. The staff were attentive and warm. Service was fast but didn’t feel rushed. Dinner was stunning. Perfect serving size and full of flavour. Worth every cent. 10/10

Had a birthday Sunday roast booked for my sister. The waitress was very helpful however rushed off her feet and some of the drinks got missed. The food was lovely and good quality. Only criticism I wish they did a single portion of Chicken instead of a sharing board
