The Pig and Butcher opened its doors in 2012 and has become a bit of an Islington institution. A laid back country style pub with a stunning private dining room and honest cooking showcasing the best farms in the UK.

In the bar we serve craft beers, wine from family-owned vineyards only, aperitif cocktails and a selection of local hand pulled ales.

We have recently completed our beautiful private dining room. With a wood burning stove and Aga oven, it’s our own farmhouse kitchen in the heart of Islington. There is no charge for the room however there is a minimum spend. It is available for either lunch or dinner and will seat 16-24 guests comfortably. For availability and minimum spend details drop us an email at crackling@thepigandbutcher.co.uk. We offer our feasting menu – all dishes are served on vintage platters ‘farmhouse style’ for the table to share. It is quite meaty, but don’t despair, Vegetarian and Pescatarian guests will be catered for by the daily changing a la carte menu.

I loved the atmosphere and my server was very attentive. The Sunday roast came quickly but unfortunately my beef was tough and not enough gravy. I did enjoy the parsnips and carrots. I wanted to love it but that was a lot of money to pay for a subpar meal.

Trying my first Sunday Roast here was the best thing I could’ve done! This place was amazing! Best food we had in the UK!

Lovely food and friendly service but the kitchen was struggling and the food was extremely slow to arrive (1hr 45 mins). These things happen from time to time.

Terrible roast, cold food that came out 2 minutes after ordering. When flagged to the staff about the cold food, it wasn't taken off of the bill. Staff friendly overall

Absolutely delicious! The mashed potatoes were to die for. The service was excellent! Every bite of meat was melt in your mouth wonderful! Get the scotch egg for a starter!

Rude and unhelpful service - queue to be seated, three times challenged my booking (it was correct), brought wrong food, brought wine without first checking price, horribly noisy, had asked for one of the quieter tables which was completely ignored.
